Mattie had hers at 11 am and Frankie at 12:15. Mattie's going to take her first training class knowing she is a reactive dog. A rally class to be exact. The other person didn't show up due to her dog being sick. So it was just the trainer and her sheltie and us. Mattie was off leash the whole time and never had a problem. With the other dog that is. She wouldn't get up for anything. No reward was high enough today. Not even a little smokey link. I'd get her to sit in front of me, but she wouldn't get up to go to my left or do a 360 or anything. Gosh I hope her thyroid pills kick in. The trainer was wondering if maybe she just has never been trained before and just has no idea. I just don't know. She would then get up stretch really big, then go lay down again. Maybe early Sunday morning isn't her cup of tea. So next we bring Frankie in.. An advanced obedience class. Just Frankie and another student. A 8 mos old retriever I think. Frankie would much rather play than do anything else of course. We again try and I do mean try to work off leash. Frankie would run over knock over the divider between us and try to go play. No recall at all. So after awhile of this behavior he then proceeds to do exactly what Mattie did. Lay down and not move. The trainer says for gods sake you are supposed to be a herding dog. What do they do wait for the sheep to come to them? So I think we have a lot of work to do. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |

Hey, it's Sunday, day if rest. |
I'm sooo glad it's not just Tiggy who would rather play with the other dogs than mind me and do her training. We still only train off leash when all the other dogs are on leash and standing at a distance. Otherwise the temptation and distraction is just too much for her. |
You took all the fun away and want to...WORK? Really, its Sunday and its early! |
Maybe they were just having a bad day?? Even my bassets don't do that. |
