Very snuggly looking bunny! |
I just can't help but notice the little "presents" that are left on the floor as he is hopping around. do those that have rabbits really let them loose in the house like that or are they house trained to a litter box???? |
The bunnies I've had were all litterbox trained. I have set up a 'condo' = fancy large cage with levels in the corner of my tv room, with a litterbox inside. The door is always open, so my bunny now can run in and out as she pleases. I have no bunny droppings on the floor. If you use the right litter (yesterday's news) the box does not smell. All domestic bunnies should be spayed or neutered at a young age...that is the mistake most people make. They get a cute bunny and then it tears the house apart...drywall, wires, carpet, couches, and poops and sprays everywhere. Then the rabbit is sent to a shelter. Rabbits are the 3rd most popular pet at shelters If only they had the bunny altered, they would have had a sweet, gentle, none distructive pet. Howie is almost ready to hang out with bunny Peanut. He lays and watches her, the odd time he'll give her a nudge. Now that his nipping days are behind us, I think we are safe to let them be together (only when we are present). My old dog Holly would sleep with the 2 bunnies all day. They were great friends. peg |
