Brisket Recipes? BRISKET RECIPES!

Anyone have a good recipe for brisket?

I am looking for a recipe that makes it somewhat
tender... (I hardly ever eat meat, so this type of
a dinner is a challenge for me  )

Thanks!

My family really likes this one-

BEEF BRISKET

1 5 to 6 lb. beef brisket (fat trimmed)
1 pkg. onion soup
garlic salt
seasoned pepper
1 T. brown sugar ( I sometimes increase this)
1 1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water

Pour sauce over brisket in roasting pan & cover tightly with foil. Cook in slow oven (300-325) for 3 to 4 hours. Test with fork-should be tender not mushy. Cool, slice & reheat in sauce.

This smells wonderful as it is cooking so everyone is ready to eat when done! :D
Thanks Karen!

That looks great!
Yeah, that recipe is a long time favorite. I find the soup mix is too salty for me anymore so I'll use dried onion and about a cup or so of low sodium beef stock.
I had a delicious brisket at Debcram's house last year (where are you, Debcram?????) Maybe she'll pop in and give the recipe. I believe she made it like a pot roast, with carrots and onions and cooked in it a slow oven, like Karen said. I remember she said she cut in into serving pieces before she cooked it because it got so tender after cooking that she couldn't slice it.
Someone has the Coca Cola Brisket Recipe?!?
Sure! Actually there are numerous variations on this.

Beef Brisket with Coca-Cola

•1 3 to 4 pound beef brisket
•1 envelope dry Lipton onion soup mix (feel free to use onion and mushroom soup mix if you like)
•1 12 oz. bottle chili sauce
•1 12 oz. can regular Coca Cola
Directions

1.Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
2.Trim meat of as much fat as possible.
3.Place the brisket in a 9 x 13 shallow baking pan and sprinkle with the dry onion soup mix.
4.Top with the chili sauce.
5.Pour the Coca-Cola over top. With a spoon, spread the chili sauce all over the brisket to make sure all of the meat is covered.
6.Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake in preheated oven 3 to 4 hours or until brisket is fork tender.
7.Important: Remove the brisket from the oven, and let it rest for at least 20 minutes. This will give the meat time for the juices to re-distribute.
8.Slice thinly against the grain.
Make 8 servings.
I love it, more brisket recipes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can not have enough in my recipe file. :D

Thanks so much!
Are you preparing for St. Patty's day? Is this a corned beef brisket you're fixing? I love corned beef brisket. I cook one every year for St. Patty's day. YUM.
