Are there any recommendations as to which boots are the best way to go? |

Mine are great but I really only use them before shows. Otherwise, they can get their feet wet all they want! |
We used Muttluks all the time while in Alaska... and never had a problem (once we got the correct sizes) |
We use Muttluks here as well. As Jo mentioned, sizing can be an issue. Oscar wear's an XL on his front paws and an L on his back paws. Is he high maintenance or what? He should've been a chick. Laurie and Oscar |
^^^ Yep, same issue. |
We use Muttluks and like them, however since our dog walks us on the street or sidewalk, they seem to wear down pretty quickly. During this crazy winter, I expect we will burn through two pair. We tried Barb Lamb's bots; I realize the the ease of putting those boots on and taking them off, but the boots seem to explode with use. Almost every seam has been restitched by our Cobbler at least two times, as recently as last week ($20.00). Barb says that she'll repair them at no charge, but you're lucky to get them back in the same calendar year that you shipped them to her, and it take a lot of email back and forth about their status till you finally get them The shame of it all is I really like the design of Barb's boots, it's just the craftsmanship that is weak. I saw a dog at Westminster with a square nose and no coat. I think we should get one of them, and paint him grey and white for old tim's sake. |
I saw some boots on the OES at Westminister. The boots went all the way up the leg...Anyone know where to buy them? |
I found out the high boots were from a Canadian company, Pawsazz. Anyone have these and what do you think? The woman I asked and she thought they were the best. curious to see what others say. |
Love my Medipaws more now than ever. http://www.medivetproducts.com/owners/productdesc.html I have a set of Muttluks too, but they get damp inside and the Medipaws don't. Also the Medipaws are easier to put on - there is a drawstring at the very top of the boot (not shown in their illustration) that holds them up in place while you wrap the velcro straps around. And of course, the Medipaws cover most of the leg, reducing the snowball issue. So the boots are not quite as easy to put on as the Muttluks, but compared to other boots with similar coverage, they are far easier. Oh and I have a set of the other kind too... but they never seem to stay on and they do tear at the seams. |

Barb has had a very trying year. Her Grandson was at St. Judes for Children with PNET Cancer. Jayden is the love of Barb's life. Between worrying sick over Jayden and having her 2 grand daughters living with her for 8 months, taking care of all of her OES, being Manager of 3 Tim Horton's as well as President of OESCA I think she deserves a little slack! I have owned 2 raincoats and 5 pairs of boots for 18 years now and yes a little bit of here ant there has had to be done but they are the best out there made! |

Though I'm sure everyone feels terrible that Barb is going through all that she is, I think it's still valuable advice from wsjVT for people looking to buy boots that are looking for prompt customer service/communication, which is also a very fair request from someone who purchases something with a guarantee. |

She is back to making boots again. I have several pair from her because at the time I was showing multiple dogs. My oldest ones are 13 years old & still in use. |
