Twiddledum (aka Garfunkel) just does not understand the game. When chewing up tp you must pull off as much as possible and shred it and spread it around, so that when the uprights come home it looks like it snowed in the house. We come home a couple days ago to a small amount the this "snow". Ok, a little weird but not unheard of. The next day we come home and the tp is chewed up a little but none left lying around. The next day we come home and there is no tp, no roll, and the part that holds the tp is laying on the floor. I tell dh to keep an eye on twiddledum for signs of distress. He ate the tp and the roll. You may ask how I know it is twiddledum? He has eaten many things. On his list is a $20.00 bill, five to six single dollar bills, multiple used tissues, unused tissues, a whole holder of napkins, used napkins, cigerette butts, my schedule, twice, a hair scunchie, which he threw up, in my bedroom, wood chips, sticks, some rocks and a whole host of things I can't identify from his poop. Come home today and I ask dh if he took the tp off the roll when he left because there is no tp on the roll and the holder is on the floor. Need to watch twiddledum for signs of distress AGAIN. Twiddledee gets the game Twiddledum....not so much. |

Goodness, that's quite a game. Poor Simon, he's his own enemy. Cute pic"caught redhanded" with the roll. I believe I'd close the bathroom door and get the pups a few new gulp friendly chew toys. Boys, human or canine, manage to find mischief fairly easily |
OH...Pam~~~~ I know your pain...but I am still laughing in my coffee reading your 'fairytale'~~ Thanks for the chuckle on a dreary Tuesday morning!!!!!! (BTW...Heart is giving TwiddleDEE a huge for his GREAT taste in 'fiber'~~~~~) |
Sorry but that is funny. i guess close the bathroom door is good advice. more toys for them too. |
Oh no - hope it all passes....nicely! I would just take the TP off and let them keep using the tile floor. I've never had a TP dog - or napkins, etc. We were just talking about it in class last night. One of my dane friends has 2 of her pups (10 months old, 150#!) in class. One she kept, one is with his new owner. Her's has decided she will steal the tp roll, and was caught coming down the hall with it happily in her mouth this week....oh puppies, even the big ones! |

Their basket of toys is overflowing with toys/things to chew on, in the hallway with them. If you ask twiddledee, he will tell you he is bored. Not much room in the yard right now due to "too" much snow, his agility class was canceled due to "too" much snow and we aren't getting out too much due to-yep you guessed it-"too" much snow. Now if you ask twiddleDUM(as a box of rocks, which he will happily munch on), he is starving to death |
Hey Pam~~~~ We should start another thread with pics of which sheepie on the forum has the worst paper fettish..... (here is one of mine...???) 'she began her paper career as a young pup..and has been perfecting it ever since!!!!! WHO is SHE??????' |
I think this is VERY FUNNY!!!! These sheepies may be dumb but certainly not stupid. I have had a few dogs over the years that would get 'busy'. Mandy liked to rearrange the trash from the waste baskets at night, pull kleenex out of the box and shred them, bite the plants and make sure you saw her do it so you would chase her. She also opened my nightstand drawer ate my watch and damaged a ring I had for 1 week including shattering 4 diamonds and chewed up 4 pairs of glasses in aprx. 1 months time. The Vet asked me if the watch was a Timex. I asked him if some brands ar better than others. He was curious if it was still working. My St. Bernard named Samantha ate windshield washer fluid, ant poison, fertilizer and grass seed without any problems. She also got mad at my mother and ripped the chrome strips off of her car , a piece of chrome by the headlight and cracked the oil pan. With my father, she chewed all of the wooden handles off of his tools. Not one handle was usable. The Vet was sure she was part goat........... Amazing Grace is 8 years old and has to be crated because she is 'busy' when I'm not home. Gracie shreds mail, vcr tapes, books, glasses, nail files, remotes and anything she can find. I do put things away but she manages to get them anyway. Thanks for a good laugh |
"The Vet was sure she was part goat..........." See, that's it exactly!!! I keep telling dh that tweedleDUM is part goat. If he see's anything partially edible...its gone. |
We gave up and removed the tp from the holder on the roll when Moe was six months old.We were going to place the holder higher on wall but gave up since he can get to it even at five feet on wall. He does however find any paper towel tissue etc left on table ..he knows he isnt supposed to have it..plays take away game..over the past year he has eaten electric bill, car insurance card..I now believe kids when they say the dog ate my homework!! |
Butch has been pretty good about not eating too much but he did get a hold of a check off the table and chewed that pretty good. You can imagine how wet it was when I got it back. We were able to flatten it out and once it dried it was cashable thank goodness. |
