I have fallen on some unexpected health issues over the last year and I am now realizing that I will no longer be able to provide the great home that Audi deserves. He has shared his home with my children, a cat and a mini doxie over the past 2 years. He gets along well with all. My children are back in Wisconsin as I am now in Ohio. I am familiar somewhat with petfinders, but thought that going to an OES site may provide the best information for me about trying to find him a furever home. Any help would be certainly appreciated. Thanks. |

I'm so very sorry you (and Audi) are going through this. In Ohio, you definitely should contact Madeline Erickson at Waynenik@aol.com 585-293-2967 for advice and help. If you need help in other areas, here is where to find your Old English Sheepdog (OES) Rescue Contacts and Links. |
You might list him under "Rescuing a Sheepdog"... viewforum.php?f=13 . Some of these dogs are simply owner-rehomes, not dogs needing "rescue". If you rehome him yourself, please visit this address for a list of questions you might ask potential adopters... http://untilyoufindme.com/Rehoming-Your ... eepdog.htm . The questions might help you select a little better home for your boy. And if you need the help of an OES rescue, below are contacts for Ohio and surrounding states... OHIO- Madeline Erickson Waynenik@aol.com 585-293-2967 INDIANA- Nita McCreary nita.mccreary@mac.com 812-527-2955 cell: 812-593-1404 http://www.midwestoesrescue.com MICHIGAN Sandy Petroskey petroskeyplace@sbcglobal.net 734-451-5553 cell: 734-674-1719 He sounds like a great boy. Wishing you both the best. |
Thank you for the suggestions...i will make the appropriate contact for my boy, Audi. After reviewing the post again, I realize that Audi is really not an OES in trouble, but much better put as an OES in need of re-homing. I feel awful that I am putting Audi in this position, but also realize that I truly did 'rescue' him at a very bad time in his life and he has been living the life of Riley....as it was said so many years ago. Again, thank you for the assistance. furdogfive |

None of us know what the future may bring. There are times we may only be a few chapters in a dog's life. But when a dog has been loved, that time spent together can make a world of difference in the dog he/she gets the chance to become. Remember that you have played a very important part in Audi's life. Because of your love and care for him, someone hoping to adopt will be welcoming a wonderful companion. |

Have you re-homed Audi? Please contact me at sheepdawglady@yahoo.com. Thank you, Michele |
I know someone who is looking for another sheepie. They currently have a wonderful 4 year old male OES that is super sweet, mild, and gets along well with other dogs. You can email me at camval1@hotmail.com. Not sure where in Ohio you live but this couple lives in the Columbus, OH area. Let me know. |
