Bunny has healed up uneventfully. NO surgery complications and even kept our cone-free surgery record going as well Here's a picture from this morning of her incision. It's healed so well! Her skin is a bit brownish stained in there (not dirt) as she has droopy mammaries from all her puppies She's just starting to play - and a few pictures outside in the dog yard - She's doing really well, and accident free in the house All she needs is her new, happy, forever home!! |

Dawn, that's a pretty nice looking bitch all things considered. Do you know her story? KB |
Mad Dog wrote: Dawn, that's a pretty nice looking bitch all things considered. Do you know her story? KB Beyond how she ended up in a puppy mill? No - nothing. As I was shaving her down and the dog underneath was unveiled, I realized she came from somewhere decent. Like from a "real" breeder I don't know what happened that she ended up in the situation she was in, but thankfully she's out now. She is well put together, stable and even disposition; and before she was sagged out from pups, I bet a really nice looking young bitch...grrr She has a chip, but it was never registered (it is now though!)....I was hoping that would be a lead, but another dead end. She could still have a great future, even beyond being a pet.....therapy dog, doing rally or obedience, maybe herding.... She's friendly, loves men and women, even little kids, seems to learn things really quickly. And she even has the authentic OES bitch stubbornness! |
Dawn What kind of chip is it? They can trace the number back to who purchased the chip! I didn't realize she was chipped |

Bunny looks great Dawn! Just a thought, but when I picked her up from the shelter they told me they named her Bunny because she had springs in her legs..... |

Stephanie you also had springs in your legs when Dawn asked you to help with transport Dawn....I could be wrong it probably is a confidentiality thing on the chip! |

I'm sure it is confidentiality - I could hear it in the guy's voice when I was asking. I tried the whole plea, but he wouldn't budge..and I usually get results! Agility - maybe if I can keep her losing weight.....lol She and Chewie weighed the same when she came.... |
oh miss bunny is safe thanks to you what a cutie pie |
Looking good |
She looks so good. How do those of you that foster, giver them up later? I would want to keep them all. Such a wonderful thing you do! |

Well, already having 5 dogs of your own undoubtably helps! Six if you count our great old foster boy Harley. I see it as an extension of the training and teaching I do with my classes. I'm lucky enough to have the skills to help dogs, so it just is another way to do that. I like taking a dog who is rough around the edges and helping them to fit into the world of humans and be happy. It's like doggy rehab! My dogs are a big help - they are varied in breeds, nature and background, but they are a stable cohesive group. A shy or unsure dog basically can go with the flow and learn things...things that would be so much harder if we (Todd and I) had to do it. Especially for a fearful dog, or one who is stressed. And I really like the feeling when you find that perfect match for the dog you have just worked so hard with, to know you helped them move on and hopefully have the best life possible. It's great! |
