We played frisbee and I hugged her and told her how much I loved her yesterday afternoon. On that count, I have no regrets. She spent her last full day with us in the mountains (Blowing Rock, NC), playing in the snow, talking to people, posing for countless pictures, giving sheepie kisses and just generally being the belle of ball. Which, if you'd ever met Genny, you would know was exactly what she was - the belle of the ball. She not only accepted, but she completely fell in love with my husband. I joked with him that he only married me to get Genny. It was a mutual love affair and I was thrilled. Beaureguard is grieving. He hugs me and licks the tears from my face. She was loved and cherished beyond measure. Our hearts are broken. From Lord Byron, I have taken what will be her epitaph, and adapted just a bit to fit Genny. Near this spot Are deposited the Remains of one Who possessed Beauty without Vanity, Strength without Insolence, Courage without Ferocity, And all the Virtures of Man without his Vices. This praise, which would be unmeaning Flattery If inscribed over human remains, is but a just tribute to the Memory of Genevieve, an Old English Sheepdog, Who was born October 27, 2003 and Died on January 30, 2011. Mommy & Daddy love you, Princess. |

OH...Tammy....I am crying tears of loss for you and Beau and your husband. What a shock!! I know how much you all loved each other so, and how hard this must be for you. I am glad I got to meet Genny at Sheepiepalooza and what a pair her and Beau were!!!! Keep the memories close to your heart, and keep Beau closer. Thinking of all of you... She was a princess and the belle of the ball!!! and so very beautiful!! |
Oh Tammy, My heart is very sad for your loss, so unexpected, both her and Beau always brought smiles to me, you can tell she was truly loved by you and then Tim. Beautiful Beautiful Genevieve, you will be missed. |

I'm so sorry to hear about Genny's passing. I consider myself one of the lucky ones that got to meet and hug her at Sheepiepalooza and I was hoping to see her and Beau again this year. She was truly loved and will be sorely missed. Hugs to you and Tim during this very difficult time and sheepie kisses to Beau! |
There are really no words to express the deep sadness. She was a beautiful girl and the epitaph was so fitting. |
Tammy -- I am heartbroken from your news. I know Gen had a wonderful life with with love from you, your husband, Beau and everyone else who had the pleasure of meeting her but it is so unfair that it was cut short like this. I will always remember the fun we had in 2006 at that dog camp in NC (http://photos.oes.org/thumbnails.php?album=27). She was such a darling, beautiful, sweet, silly sheepie -- everything of which one dreams when you want a sheepdog. I am so greatly saddened by your loss. My heart is with you. |
So sorry to hear of your loss. Seven is so young but at least you know she had seven years of love. |
She really was a special one of a kind OES...the reason so many fall in love with this breed. I have tears just thinking of what you are going thru and how Beau must be missing her...sometimes life just seems so unfair. You were truly blessed to share your life with her...as was she. |
Tammy, I am soo sorry for your loss....Gen was a VERY special, beautiful princess...If you need me, i am here... |
So sorry for your loss. |
oh no. In 2005, reading about Genevieve and Beau's adventures and how that they are quite a pair ultimately convinced me in getting not just 1 but 2 sheepdogs. So sorry for losing your beautiful girl- I could tell by your posts that her seven years couldnt have been more grander!! laural |

Tammy, I am so sorry. Genevieve was loved by so many of us on this forum. I loved your pictures and stories of her. I was so shocked to see your post and am still shocked. My Oliver and Lucy will be hugged a little tigher and little longer this evening. Have fun at the bridge sweet Genevieve, you are going to be missed. |
Tammy, I'm so sorry to hear about Genny. I had no idea she was ill. I remember meeting her at Sheepiepalooza 2009. I even snapped a picture of her trotting along in the dog park. Again, I am so sorry. |
She was too young, it hurts even more I know when we lost Katy at 6 I was heartbroken. After I had read your post last night I brushed Summer and cuddled her, and told her I loved her. She thought she was due for a bath or something and I was buttering her up. Bless...xxxxxx even more hugs to you and yours |
I'm so sorry. That is awful. |
Thank you. It helps to know others understand and share our grief and pain right now. Your kind words and thoughts bring us comfort. I appreciate knowing that Genny was loved and will be missed by you, too. |
I've only been on this forum since last May, so I searched through your posts and read a lot of Genevieve's adventures and her appearance at Sheepiepalooza in 2009 and viewed a lot of her pictures. Such a sweet and beautiful girl. You kept her happy, loved, and beautiful. A dog's life in the homes of most of the members here is a truly blessed life, a life of almost constant happiness and joy. One can almost envy these dogs their blissful contented lives. They're just far far too short for us. Such heartache for you, but not for Genevieve, she went with love. |

Your words are so true, I think we all loved Genny. I have found Tammys card from a couple of years ago. My husband agrees with me that Genny was beautiful ...xx |
