This is how MO started with her tummy issues. Assuming Dreamer doesn't have an intestinal blockage or other major problem (sorry, had to mention it) it might be something that can be controlled by a Pepic AC a day. Start with the 10 mg size. (Mo now requires the 20 mg size) We are 80-85% controlled, at least she lets me know when she's going to upchuck....usually around 3:30 a.m. and I let her outside. We also had to change MO to a sensitive tummy diet, also eliminating all wheat. Pass it by your vet first, of course. |
This sounds like Oscar when he was a puppy. Just like Mo, he also takes Pepcid AC, but he takes 40 mg per day, for acid reflux. Once he started taking the Pepcid (generic is famotidine), this type of vomiting stopped altogether. Laurie and Oscar |
yipes, Laurie, I might need to give MO more! If she continues this spell for another week or so, I'll add 10 mg. |
Susan, just double-checked Oscar's dosage to make sure. He has taken 2 X 20 mg tablets per day since he was a puppy. That was the dosage the vet prescribed. Does MO take Pepcid brand, or do you give her the generic? We switched to the generic for Oscar (less than half the price), and he has done just fine. Hope MO is feeling better. Laurie and Oscar |
thanks guys will try it |
Was it yellow bile? Just a thought that maybe his tummy was empty? Sometimes a little bed snack with something in the tummy can help too. I have a friend who solved her dog's erpies by giving her small snacks throughout the day and especially at bedtime. |
You bet we give generic! When the generic is on sale, I load up. She also gets a snack before bed, could be larger in her opinion |
I agree with the empty tummy theory. Perhaps a cookie at bed time will give him a little something is his tummy through the night. Also, if you do not do it already, feeding twice a day might help. Same amount of food, just split in half so they get half in the am and half in the pm. |

When she was younger she would wake up and vomit mostly clear yellow liquid. A cookie before bed practically eliminated the problem. |
poor dreamer. hope is better. good advice was given. give him a kiss from gigi and bogey. |
