P L U M ~~~~~~ (plum puddin).... She had a very busy couple of days! She was groomed yesterday and did great considering she didn't know where she was, what was happening and was looking for her new mom (joey)...She also had her first vet visit. Since we didn't know when she was due for shots (or ever had any) the vet gave her the first year vacs. She has a nasty ear infection, but got some meds. We still have to decide when to spay and chip her. She is 50 pounds, a little skinny but, I am sure Joey will fix that with her wonderful cooking! While she was at the groomer, Joey called me and expressed her worry that she was STILL there at noon! OMG!!!!! Being the great mom that I am, I assured her that, it does take a while to groom an OES..She called back a little while later, saying, when she finally was able to go get her, she almost cried, she was so beautiful!!! On Monday, she took Plum to pick Gia up from school and of course all the children wanted to pet her. She was not really relaxed, but she did accept that atttention. YESTERDAY, once again they went to pick Gia up but this time, Plum was happy and excited to get petted....(Joey said it was because Plum knew she looked so good after her spa day).... A funny..... Heart and I took a soft crate over last night so Plum could have a 'kennel' to go into and have as her own. NOT to zip up, but just to hunker down in.. As soon as I got it up, Plum and Heart were running around the table and Joey looked at me and said... ""oh..Mom...I don't think this is going to work!"..of course I thought she was talking about Plum...so I said .. "Do you want me to just take her home and call rescue?" She looked at me like I had 3 heads and said... "THE CRATE!!!! NOT PLUM!!!!!!" ....I looked over at the crate and Leo, my 4 yearold grandson, was settled in the crate with one of his toys!!! (((I am trying to get pics of the new and improved..PLUM!!!!!)) |

How heartwarming the story of Plum is!! I'm SO glad and relieved that she's fitting in with Joey and her family so well. The torch is being passed to yet another generation of sheepie lovers!! Can't wait to see the new pics of Plum and her new 'do! On a cold winter's day, this story just makes me feel so warm and fuzzy!! |
Sounds like Joey is in love!!! I think Plum may have found a home and you all failed fostering 101. It a very good thing for all I think. |
Sorry, but there's a serious problem with this whole story...WHERE ARE ALL THE PICTURES???? She went to the groomers and came back beautiful, pictures pictures PICTURES!!! Plum is a great name, but we need photographic proof of this whole heartwarming rescue tale or we wont believe any of it!!!! |
Poor Joey - tell her all kids love crates! I was in them, my kids were in them, now my grandkids are in them. Just this morning Norah was climbing in with Riley He and his crate are small...it was a tight squeeze! And yes....PICTURES! |
Leo is crate trained! Does this mean Plum gets Leo's bed? |

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Plum! Glad its working out! |
Ok, it is time for you to sort something out for me. I am very confused (easily done, mind). I need a family tree done, so that I can sort out who all of your people (and fur-folk) are! |
AWwwww Kim...I AM sorry!!!! Quick background on Plum and """cast"": Rescued last Saturday. her name was Dixie. My YOUNGEST daughter Maureen was going to take her and rename her Pi (she has Domino and Ceasar, the American BullDogs). Domino was kind of growling at her, and Dixie is a very sweet, soft OES so I didn't feel comfortable leaving her ...soooo... My OLDEST daughter, Joey (named after my dad) said she would foster her, actually holding onto her for me for a few days. (my plan was to beg Dino, DH so she could be part of Heart, Pearl, and Coz...I would rename her SOL (Heart and SOL. get it ) But Joey called the next day saying her family, (Lenny DH, Haley 9yrs, Gia 6 years and Leo..4 years, 2 cats, Spanky and Rascal) really were beginning to love 'Dixie' and she was melding into their family in that short time, so they wanted a week to decide. They renamed her PLUM. (I have a son in the middle of the girls..Nick..but he is not involved in this...He made sure he stayed FAR...FAR...away. ) UP to this point it was a day by day adventure. BUT~~~ Two days ago, Joey informed me that Plum will be their forever family member!!!!! Yesterday...PLUM began her first heat and yes that stupid (sorry) former owner of this pet shop puppy never got her spayed, never gave me any shot records, or the type of food she was on~~~NOTHING~~~~~ (((((I was told when the women who went to pick her up, this owner, said."TAKE HER!!!!" How very sad. Plum is just the sweetest thing, and now she has a home that SHE derserves!!!!!!!!)) AND she has the greatest GRAMMIE in the whole OES world!!!! So, Kim...I hope that helps with the 'characters' of this rather convoluted rescue!!!! |
I am so happy for Plum! She finally has the home she deserves. Can't wait to officially "meet" Joey and Plum! |
So Nick doesn't feel left out ....MAYBE...we can talk him into taking some pics of Plum and her new family ....since we would all love to see more of her and her happy family!!!! |
Good one Barb!!~!! I did post a couple of pics taken by me...NOT a photographer AT ALL!!!! see...PLUM PICS!!!!! |
Thank you for clarifying. I didn't clue in that you had grown up kids, I thought you were a kid yourself!! It seems like things have worked out well for everyone, especially Plum. |
