Oliver looks just gorgeous and needs a sheepie home that will love him! They will only allow adoptions in MI.

Yes Oliver and the two females look great...wish I lived in Michigan!
Does anyone know why they limit the adoptions to a certain state? We have been looking to adopt for quite a while and Oliver is adorable.

A responsible and ethical breeder (of any breed) will be responsible for any dogs they produce for that dogs entire life.
Dogs that come into rescue are generally treated with the same care by the groups who take them in, vet/rehab them, then try to place them in the best possible home. One way to ensure that they are able to care for them forever, is to limit the area where they are placed. In the event the dog needs to come back, if they are all over the country it gets difficult.

Also, each group tends to serve a certain geographic area, so it simplifies matters if dogs are kept within that groups borders.

Most groups occasionally make exceptions, mainly if the dog has special requirements and a suitable home isn't possible locally. And sometimes it helps if you personally know the group members (all volunteers, after all) or have helped out as a volunteer with other rescue groups. It helps vouch for your sincerity and committment. And the rescue network is very good - so if someone who volunteers and helps really wants a dog from another area, you are more likely to get exception taken with some things. They can verify your involvement pretty easily.
I know it helped me with my rescue OES adoption process that I was a board member and volunteer for several years with another breed's rescue group. And volunteering is really a fun and satisfying thing to do! :hearts:

Hope this helps with your question.
