I think it's kind of relaxing for them too. Kind of a meditation maybe. |
Rudy gets Nylabone rings to chew. He can be pacing, crazy, and totally hyperactive...but if you hand him a ring he'll chew like he's trying to rip out his teeth, and within ten minutes he's gone from nuts, to zen, to comatose. I'm just so glad we found the magic wand. I don't know why it works...it must work out stress and relax them or something. And a stressed Rudydog is impossible to live with...I really need to send the nice people at Nylabone a thank you note. |
Chewing releases endorphins, the feel good chemical in the body. |
Chewing releases endorphins, the feel good chemical in the body. Hmm...maybe I should start chewing bones... |
Quote: Endorphins ("endogenous morphine") are endogenous opioid peptides that function as neurotransmitters.[1] They are produced by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus in vertebrates during exercise,[2] excitement, pain, consumption of spicy food, love and orgasm,[3][4] and they resemble the opiates in their abilities to produce analgesia and a feeling of well-being. I'll not make a comment |
Now I am really going to start chewing bones..or, maybe having more sex |
Or eat more HOT foods to go with bones and sex. |
