I had my pup w/me at my friends new yrs eve party. Some guy sat next to me and was petting her and he pinched her behind the neck til she cried. Then after told him to get away from me, to never touch my dog, he proceeded to tell me that it was good for her. It relives stress and if I did not do this that she would die sooner. (thats when my fiance had to get involved and got him away from my pup and i) Other things like this have happened. Ive had other dogs but is there just something about OES that just makes the crazies come over, have to talk to you and pet your dog? It makes me really cautious about taking her places and introducing her to new people. |

I would have pinched him really really hard. That is so unkind, pups need to be shown love, some firmness yes but not cruelty. Folks come over to us to speak to Summer which just makes her act sillier than ever, but then again you dont see many oes pups near us. |
Keep puppies away from A$$holes that were probably drinking at the New Year's Eve party...those are also the same type of people who think it's cute to see a dog drink beer. Sorry that happened to you |
You know what would have relieved that man's stress? Repeatedly being kicked you know where...same logic there. Oops, sorry, my mistake. That would have made you feel better, not him. Even better. What a jerk. Poor puppy. |
What a jerk! Reminds me of the time I had my first OES pup. My then husband had a friend over who smoked. The jerk blows smoke right in my pups face and laughs. I grabbed my bottle of bitter apple and sprayed him right in the face and said, funny, huh Got rid of him and the husband |
tracie's got 2 points. diane's got 4. and the very thought of wth mim would do, is worth 6 or more. lol |
I dont think it affected her in the long run with people. Shes been really well socialized. She was constantly going everywhere that was safe for her to be. It escalated really fast. I thought my fiance and our friends were going to kick that guy's butt. He definitely new he wasnt welcome there but stayed anyways. We left shortly after midnight because I didnt feel comfortable having my pup around him. That particular friend that was hosting the party also host all our game nights and such. its usually just close friends and our dogs. |
You guys get points for the right answers. I can't believe the nerve of someone doing that! he was an @. I wonder if he thinks babies also need that to relieve stress...urg..what a weirdo! Marianne |
Here's my 6 points 1. Pain causes stress it doesn't relieve it 2. Unexpected nastiness causes stress 3. Your pup wasn't stressed until said jerk came along 4. Since when did a chinese burn (kind of what he did) relieve stress 5. What qualified the jerk to even have an opinion on what should be done to a dog to to stop them dying sooner. What he's a vet, a behaviourist, a dog trainer even? 6. I like the bitter apple solution! Maybe grab him round the throat and pinch till he cries. If you pinch hard enough he might even stop breathing. Then there's that research about people who are cruel to animals. Steer clear of him he might be a psychopath. |
I am impressed that you managed to keep your cool-I suspect that I would find myself testing out his theory that pain lengthens life, testing it out on HIM. And it wouldn't be on his neck, and it would be far worse than a pinch. |
Oh my gosh what a first class *hole. I definitely would have pinched him HARD somewhere and asked with angelic eyes if he felt de-stressed |
With that logic then the Chinese Burn should work wonders on the a$$'s private parts.....live long and prosper? I don't think so. |
What an @sshat. Sort of glad it wasn't me, or I'd have needed bail money last night. I think I wouldn't have been able to control myself and probably would have punched him, but only till he stopped moving. Then I would have smiled and said, "you'll live longer." People never cease to infuriate me. Shellie |
we are all dog lovers, so of course this is extremely disturbing. since mim brought it up though, knowing a lil about the research she mentioned, even though i'm an eye for an eye kinda of guy, i have to advise to be very wary and just get away from individuals such as this. the percentage of pyschopaths and serial killers who have an animal abuse history is extremely high. |
Well has anyone seen the movie american psycho? The crazy guy is an investor. I guess he invested a lot of money in a good friend of mines business. Which is why crazy guy was there. My friend said this afternoon he will not be mixing business associates with his friends anymore and apologized. (thank goodness) This was the first and last time. I am not a guy and have a small frame, so it wouldn't have been wise for me with the whole "eye for an eye" situation or anything physical. I kind of left that for the guys at the party that crazy guy made angry. (which was everyone of them) |

[/quote] I have to say I am at a complete loss as to how pinching and hurting a puppy "is good for her and relieves stress..." What a loon. No, not a loon, a total loon. How do these people function in society? |
It was nice that your friend apologised and he was obviously upset by the incident as he has taken action and will not be inviting the crazy dude again. |
I'd have kicked his arse and Bob would have had my back, and sorry to say hopefully Chauncey would have bit the he11 out of him. What a complete a$$. |
