Follow up to my fall

Well I'm not one to listen. I'm very stubborn or should I say stupid. I went to work Monday(the doctor said I could even though Troy tried to convince him I was a letter carrier) I left around 3. My foot started to swell alot last night. It was really swollen when I got up this morning so I called in sick to work. I thought if I stayed home I would ice my foot like I'm supposed to do. I think it might be to late. Susan, the color show has started. Such pretty blue greens.
Not so much pain right now, I'm not sure if the swelling stops the pain or not.
Hopefully it will start getting better soon.
Thanks for everyones well wishes.

Oh, Lisa, take care of yourself! You know if this were Frankie or Mattie you wouldn't dare let them on that foot until the doctor gave the "okay"! :ghug:
You sound like me. I just got back from my first PT appt after my surgery today. The PT told me off for not being on crutches, for walking to fast and for not taking enough pain meds.

I'm a practitioner myself so I'm always telling patients what they should do but I'm not a very good patient myself.

If you get all inflamed and swollen now it will take longer to get better and you'll be in a lot of pain. There you go, that's what my PT just told me; you can have my advice at no charge.

Take care, lots of Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation.
Elevate that foot......so unless you can do that at work, you'd better plan on part time for awhile. You don't want to be swelling!! You are going to see a lot of your toes for awhile, hope you have a nice pedicure. Blue and green is better than red and pink. In time you'll be doing careful foot and leg movements while the toes/foot are up. Don't rush that, your soft tissues need to to heal.

Glad the pain is minimal. When you get the word you can begin walking, consider water walking in a nearby pool. The less weight and water resistance will help. Eons ago when I messed up a knee, once the cast came off (back when they casted everything) my PE instructor told me to jump in the pool........when Mrs. Wilson said jump, you jumped! Stiff and painful initially but recovery went quicker than the doc expected until I told him what I was doing everyday in PE.

Have you trained Frankie and Mattie to fetch the TV remote and snacks?
Sounds very painful. Please be patient and be good to yourself.
We take care of everyone and everything besides ourselves. Lisa, sit! And heal!
