I bent my new copper cookie cutter because I didn't like the topline on it. I now have cookies to deliver to my vet and groomers today. It would make it more fun if the frosting was already made and colored, but the end result is pretty neat. Good thing they aren't chocolate or I would have eaten them all. Oh, and the heads are my design. I cut out a cardboard template and traced around it. |

Wendy...can you share some of your talent?? Those cookies are gorgeous, I would not want to eat one. I would keep it as a decoration! peg |
Don't think they would make it to Canada Peg...or I would send them. |
Your cookies are so cute. What a great idea to give them as a gift to your Vet and Groomer. |
You REALLY should sell them online!!!!! I would buy a bunch!!!! They are adorable!!!!! |
I think shipping cookies would be a nightmare. I am wondering where a drawing of 3 cats went that I sent a week ago...I so don't want to draw it again. You know more about shipping food than I do Val. |
It IS doable!!! And you can practice sending them to me!!!! I can be your guinea piggy...... I WILL make the supreme sacrifice~~~~~just for you!!!!! |
Those are so darn cute |
I love them too!! Very cute esp those heads! |
The heads are all me. I have a cardboard template. Val...I will make you some and you will tell me how to send them after Christmas. I am out of ingredients and I need some more black food coloring. |
I love them! Lemme buy some! (PS is it just me, or are pics two and three almost the same? Am I missing a detail or something?) |
No Ron, they are almost the same. I thought one was blurry. I only have one left as I delivered to my vet and groomer today. My husband and daughter ate the other 2. I just did them for fun...I can't imagine making them to ship. All I did to decorate was slap white all over them, slap the gray over that and make a black nose. Easy decorating. They do last at least a week as gingerbread stays pretty soft if kept in a wrap or container. The hardest part is making the frosting and mixing in the color. Messy!!! |
They would make cute ornaments too. |
Love them Wendy!! Where do you find black food coloring?? |
I am impressed! I would love to buy those too! I have a good friend who has a cookie business (www.cookiemeister.com) and does "people eats and puppy treats), and I think she should take your cue and do specialty breed cookies. I have to mention that to her! |
Black food coloring comes in paste form and you can get it at Michael's in the cake decorating area. I told someone else to go for it too...I just did these for fun and everyone's cookies will be different. This company who made the cookie cutter makes other breeds I am sure. I just HAD to bend mine as the topline on them was flat...and that would never do. Although I will consider doing them for special orders though...might be a fun change. http://www.doglikenature.com/store/cat/ ... ie.Cutters |
Wendy, you are absolutely amazing. Every sheepdog item you make looks....... just like a sheepdog! Whenever I try something like this I end up with a mutant of some kind. Not pretty. I'm sure your vet and groomer will love these. Laurie and Oscar |
Laurie...I guess that is just because I grew up with stupid looking sheepdog items. I won't let anyone even see them if they don't look like something I would like...and I am an anal retentive perfectionist I guess. I KNOW my mother potty trained us way too early. |
