My 82 year old father has decided to give up Christmas this year. So my dad and both of my sisters are coming to my house on Christmas day. No idea on what I'm making that day. SIGH... Better get busy. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |

That's usually me. But this year I had to get all my Christmas stuff done before the 15th because that's when I had surgery. It's not as good as I thought it'd be. It doesn't feel like Christmas without all the running around shopping etc. |
Every year I say I will get organised early, never happens and true to form I will be running around in a panic just before santa stops here. Still have a lot to do but like every other year I will get there in the end |
Just enjoy anyway and keep telling yourself--it will ALL get done! |
When we decided to go to Michigan to spend Thanksgiving and see my new granddaughter, I put all the Christmas shopping on hold. I decorated both the trees ect, at my hubby's request before we left and I'm glad I did. Anyway, so the shopping was put on hold/or last minute so I've been doing a lot of last minute stuff. The gifts that go up North have to be out by a certain date...so they went out Friday. So now it is mostly shopping for the peeps here. I bought a special gift for my new granddaughter that didn't work out so now I have to find something today to put it in the post tomorrow to get it there on time. geez. The next faze will be preping for Christmas Dinner, but taking one thing at a time. |
It is always that way. No matter how organized you are and I am very organized. But in the midst of all the chaos do one small simple thing for yourself or someone else and it will be a nicest feeling. Here are a couple of things that I did yesterday that made the season brighter: 1) I made a point of wishing every sales person that waited on me a "Merry Christmas". It was amazing to see them smile over that simple sentiment when everyone is so focused on getting things done. 2) I got to spend an evening with my friend Val. We volunteered to wrap gifts for our Therapy Dog's group at the mall. So we rode together, ate dinner together and did a little shopping before and afterwards together. Plus we made creative bows together at the gift wrap booth that benefits the doggies that help people. This morning I am drinking some Christmas tea that Tim (oops I mean Santa ) left in my stocking last year. While I try to figure out how to cram everything I want to do still into the day and week. Take a deep breath. As Lisa said, somehow it all comes together in the end. |
