6 granny smith apples..peeled and cored frozen pie dough sugar butter water cinammon thaw pie dough, cut each round in half and roll a little thinner.. each 1/2 is for one apple. in the center of the dough stand the apple. pour in the cored center, 1/2 tsp of sugar and a pinch of cinammon and a blop of butter. wrap up and seal. do with all 6. in a seperate pot, make a simple syrup of 1 cup sugar and 1 1/2 cup of water..bring to a boil..turn off heat and add 1 stick of butter and 1/2 tablespoon cinammon. pour sauce over apple dumplings and cook at 350 for 40-45 minutes.....serve warm with ice cream... trust me...you'll never go back to apple pie!! |
