Too much physics for me

Wayne and I have a good friend who lectures in astrophysics. :cow: His nickname is "moon boy"

We have just been invited to a party in Jan to celebrate the release of his first book entitled "Multiwavelength Atlas of Galaxies". http://astronomy.swin.edu.au/~gmackie/MAG/

I was always bad at geography in general. But an atlas of galaxies is so far beyond me, it's out of this world. :sidestep:

Here's my advice: drink a LOT, then ask your astrophysics friend this question: "Is the sun or moon closer to the Earth?" and watch his head explode

Seriously, sounds like fun though.

Bwahahahah!!! Excellent! :clappurple:

Wayne has already made Glen's head explode by confusing the word astronomy with astrology. It was a slip of the tongue on Wayne's behalf but the look on Glen's face was priceless.

A wonderful Kodak moment!

Lovely book and would have thought with the photos to be more than $135.88 US from Amazon. I've blown my budget with Amazon this month on CDs and DH's history books for Christmas. Hope I remember this book next month. It's been (ahem) several decades since those physics classes, wonder if anything still lingers??
Well, if he offers you a free copy, I have a friend who would seriously like it! 8O

I go to dog shows with his wife, and they live just around the corner from us. (Close neighbor, about 2 miles by road, but really is around the corner, so shorter as the crow flies )

He is a science teacher at one of the High Schools in Mankato - however he specializes in astronomy and runs the planetarium there. It is state of the art - better than many colleges. He is a hoot and the kids love his classes. He was even asked this year to develop teaching materials for NASA's Youth Program!
If he is called "Moon boy" as a nick name then Moon him ????? :twitch:    Or talk about where the "Sun" does not shine 8)

I dunno you brainiancs :? :P
My husband's uncle had a doctorate in physics. He never talked about it, kinda like he thought it was above our heads. Turns out it was because it was classified. And by the time it wasn't classified, he thought it would be boring.

It's his college nickname so all those bad jokes are where the nickname started.
Dawn if I get a freebie I'll send it to you.
