The animal organizations have done a great job of dealing with the poor animal environment created by the local attitude toward pets. The last 3 years they have worked hard to make changes to law. Since that time, animal abuse has become a punishable crime with jail time and substantial fines. Last year a law was passed to restrict time dogs can be left tethered in a yard. Now, they are going after the people that line the sidewalks at Wal-Mart with boxes of pups. Sadly that horrible Sheepie breeder in Payson is in another county. http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/home/50811 ... h.html.csp |

Great, maybe more states will get the idea that animals need to be protected. |
That's wonderful! |
Wow!! That is amazing and something to be seriously proud of. Unfortunately, Chicago's euthanasia numbers are quite depressing. We have a new Commissioner at animal control though so we are hopefully moving in the right direction. |
At least one state is doing right...now if we could just get the others to follow along. |
That's a wonderful tribute to the volunteers, shelter staff and all the people involved who made it happen. That's really amazing and the state should be proud of their record! Wish all places could set their standard just as high for the care and protection of creatures. Marianne |
