The listing now says, "Name Oliver RESERVED" Hoping he'll be going to a good home or rescue. |
Oh, the name "Oliver" caught my attention very quickly. Wish there was a picture. Hope he found a good home! |
I'm actually the proud owner of Oliver! We went to look at dogs at the humane league and took one look at him and had to bring him home. He is my favorite thing in the whole entire world. He is super healthy and he makes me laugh more then any person could. He is now the proud step brother of another OES named Stanley. We found out where Oliver was originally from when we looked through the paperwork he came with and found out he was born on and OES farm. We couldn't resist and drove all the way down to West Virginia and took home his step brother. They both have the same mother and they are the cutest dogs ever. They are very happy. |
Congratulations! That is excellent news! Welcome to the forum! Post some pictures of your new furbaby (s) |
That's the best introduction I've read in a long while Congratulations to you and your family for rescuing sweet Oliver. You'll never be the same OES are not just dogs, they are a way of life I'm curious about your OES farm in WV, is it outside of Charleston, owned by John Norman? I live in Huntington WV and have heard of it. Welcome to the forum, looking forward to all the stories and pictures of your two babies. Are they named after anyone special? There was a famous comedy team long ago, Laurel and Hardy, with those same first names. I loved them! So many questions, sorry |
What an awesome story!!!! Congratulations on your new additions! Robin PS pics please.... |
Great story! Welcome and congratulations! |
Thank you all! Sorry I haven't been on here in forever, I've been busy with school and everything!! They are both from a farm in Grafton, WV. The owner said that the place where the puppies were wasn't normally where he kept them so the actual farm they are bred might be the one you're talking about!!! When I bought the second puppy Stanley was the first name that popped into my head when I saw him. My mom laughed at me and told me about the comedians Stan & Olli. We decided to keep Oliver's name with him since he was use to it already! It was pretty sad because when we went to pick Oliver up from the Humane League here the previous owners of him barely even answered any of the question on the questionnaire sheet the humane league requires when giving the dog to them. It was as if they could just care less about him and skipped a lot of questions and just gave one word answers. It said that he hated men, when that was a complete lie because he loves everyone that comes into the house and is very affectionate towards everyone he meets! They said that he was a lot of things he's not. I wish I knew more about the previous owners to know why they would want to travel all the way down to WV to get a puppy then just give him up without a care. It's sad, but I'm thankful he's in an amazing home with everyone who loves him and spoils him. He loves watching TV too, I love that about him. I never thought I could love anything like I do my puppies. They're like my babies and I get offended when someone tells me something negative about them or tells me the things I should have done when raising them, it's like I get defensive like someone is telling me how to be a better mother haha. They're my life. I don't know where I'd be without them!! Here are some pictures to update you on my sheepies!!!!! This is Stanley when we got him as a puppy! This is Oliver when we first got him! Oliver enjoying his first snow day! #2 Oliver & Stanley! Stanley! Oliver! Stanley & my best friend for a photo project I did! Oliver with my sisters and mom! Stanley in his first halloween costume! (he was a dragon!) Snow! I think and Old English Sheepdog makes the most perfect pet. I'm only 21 and I plan on sticking to this breed for the rest of my life. They're the life of the party and are so affectionate! I would love to see pictures and hear anyone else's old english sheepdog stories! How did you find out about the breed? What made you fall in love with Sheepies? Thank you! Melissa |
and I just looked up the breeders name and his name is Jerry Ross! |
