Now here is why we need therapy. They are getting their puppy this weekend and I am having a hard time resisting the urge to camp out on their doorstep! They are getting a little boy (if we got a second, it would be a little boy, unless it was a rescue then we would get what we get). I am ridiculously excited about having another one of Amber's puppies so close to us. I am very happy for this puppy, as he is getting wonderful parents. I am very happy for the parents, as they are getting a wonderful puppy. And I am very happy for Mady, David and I, because we get a new sheepie friend! We WILL need therapy to get through meeting this puppy and resist the urge to get another sheepie. Why can't I get the thought of a little sibling for Mady out of my head? I think that puppies and puppy pictures should be banned for the time being, for my own safety! How long can we resist? Keep your fingers crossed that the puppy comes over, chews up my favourite shoes, pees on my good carpet, and throws up on my silk pillows. That might be the only way I get through this. |

Don't you remember when we brought Mady home? We brought her home, she walked over to my new boots, stuck her head in my new boots, and threw up. She didn't exactly get kicked to the curb for that did she? |

There is nothing wrong with you, they are addicting. I waited 4 years to get Butchy but I got him. |

After the successful stalking, volunteer to keep the puppy for a weekend for the sleep deprived parents at their wits end. That may help |

Keep your fingers crossed that the puppy comes over, chews up my favourite shoes, pees on my good carpet, and throws up on my silk pillows. That might be the only way I get through this. Come now Kim, This new puppy could get up on your bed, suffer explosive poopy butt all over your new silk sheets and comforter, go to your family heirloom oriental rug and have the worst vomiting fit and then potty all over your indoor flower box killing rare and high maintenance prize winning flowers and you would still jusify it all away..... The puppy is adjusting to new food which upset his bowels, he had too much to drink before coming over and being so excited he couldn't help but pee here and there just a little bit plus you should have picked up the flower box anyways, and the heat in your house stressed his tummy so he had to throw-up. Whether you guys like it or not you are both now certifed Bobtail nuts and as we all know they are just like potato chips, you just can't stop at one! But as I have mentioned before I recommend you wait until Mady is 2-3 years old. As tough as the wait will be if you do wait you will be much the better off for it in the end. Love to the Mady gurul and her mommy, daddy and future brother. Carl and gang! |
Interesting that Carl posted-like meeting his gorgeous sheepies had NOTHING to do with us wanting more.... I do hope that we can hold on until Mady is two. That rescue sheepie had us very very close to getting a second. I am sure that, if those Bernese mountain dog people didn't get in there first, we would have succumbed to that special sheepie charm of that rescued boy. If this new puppy doesn't do it, we still have spring to get through, when two new friends that we made at our Nationals get their own OES. It is like I am being tested by the puppy gods. Sheepie puppies everywhere. GAH!!! |
Mady wrote: Interesting that Carl posted-like meeting his gorgeous sheepies had NOTHING to do with us wanting more.... GAH!!! What are you saying Kim? I don't remember twisting either of your arms or putting you in front of an interigation light and brainwashing you - but if you want me to...... And all I have here is a little girl named Dawn Eline and her Daddy Virgil Tiberius. But then again you are right they are a pair of gorgeous kids if I do say so myself. And sadly you never got to meet The Great Mamoo, Martin Zephram. Now if you had met that big teddy bear love bug then you could very legitimately blame me for instilling your desire for a second Bobtail. As it is I'll only take half the blame! Actually I think you could readily parent a second Bobtail without a huge number of problems. I just don't want you to face both of them suffering geriatic illnesses simultaneously and possibly face loosing both of them in a relatively short time of each other. Of course there are no guarantees but keeping a few years between them reduces the risk. Having lost Martin last summer and then fearing loosing Virgil equally early there were many days I was completely emotionally devestated. Fortunately Vigil is now thriving (all things being relative) in large part due to Dawn being home for the last year. I don't know how long his rejuvenation will last but for the time being at least I can breathe a little easier than I did this time last year. Two Bobtails are better than one and three are better ..... Carl |
