How long should I expect her to hold it?

She is now 9 weeks old - and has quite the bladder on her. 8O I was surprised that she didn't need to pee all the time - then again I've always taken care of little 4 week old puppies for people - so that's what I have to go off of.

I've not had a dog in a long while so I'm very cautious and bring her out every five minutes.

But when I go to class and need to crate her - how long should I expect her to hold it? When should I stop giving water? Should I walk her before bed even if she has gone to the bathroom already?

I think the estimate goes something like 2 hours at 8 weeks and an hour for every week over that? I might be wrong, most pups just pee all the time.LOL
I've also heard an hour for their age in months plus one, but of course, that varies too. Clyde is a ridiculous water drinker so we take his water up at about 9-- a little later on the weekends if we now we'll be up later-- and we've done that since he was about 3 months old. It took him a very long time to make it through the night despite our best efforts.
I think you're right, I must have gotten it mixed up.... that sounds more familiar...lol
Lol. I think you're right that most pups just pee all the time anyway! Clyde blew that formula out the window when we got him at 12 weeks. We take him out, he'd pee, come in the house pee, take him back out, pee, bring him in, 10 minutes later, pee. There was no way to predict it! Now at almost 7 months he sticks with that formula pretty well. It's so nice to be able to relax again!
My OES turned 13 weeks yesterday and this past week is the first week I have been able to sleep through the night. He has started to hold his bladder through the night or is now able to. When we first got him at 8 weeks I got up twice during the night to let him out. Then it progressed to once a night (holding for 5-6 hours) so almost a full night's sleep. And then this week, where I now have to start retraining myself so I end up getting less sleep then I am used to from the past 5 weeks, or I am going to turn into a vegetable from too much sleep...lol!
Dancer held it through the night right from the day I brought her home, but I think that's because I let her sleep in my bed at first...
