Introducing Miss Mattie
We picked her up today, actually just got home. I wish I would have had a little more time this weekend with her, but it should be ok. I got a different version today when I went to pick her up, but this is Matties story. She has lived her whole life with the same family. She is a trained therapy dog, and obedience trained. Mattie is 6 years old. Then one day her whole world was turned around. There Grand daughter was in a room with her and said that Mattie snapped at her, did not bite, but snapped. So they immediately took her to rescue. Michael the gentleman who runs the rescue did not want to part with her. She is the sweetest little girl. Then they choose us to be her new mommy and daddy. From looking at her vet records she has had alot of skin problems, her face is very matted and she is extremely itchy. I have a grooming appt on Tuesday. I have started transitioning her food. She eats dog chow. She might be a little to slow for Frankie, but time will tell. She grumbles a little when he gets over zealous. Well here she is:    Lisa and Frankie |

Well congrats on your new family member!!   Mattie sounds matty, so good thing she will be getting some grooming attention. Beats me how she could be used as a therapy dog in that condition though...  How could they even take her out in public knowing she was all nasty?? Yuck.And how miserable for her too  Can't wait to see and hear more about her  |

| She's got such a sweet face. Hoping a shave down and nice soapy bath will help her to feel more comfortable. A different food, one that isn't corn base, may help too. Frankie looks like he's saying, "Look what mom brought me!!" She's a lucky girl. Hoping for an easy transition into your family. |
