Wednesday: Coach outlet Thursday 10 pm: JCrew, Bath and Body, Nike, Bass Friday 5 am: Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, and Land of Nod I LOVE going after Thanksgiving Day shopping. I honestly don't usually buy much (I HATE standing in line!), but love the hussle and bussle. It really puts me in the Christmas spirit! The only must have's this year are 2 Coach purses; one for my mom and one for the MIL. Who else is going Black Friday shopping? |

Well....Have a great time!!!!!!!! |
Loved it years ago the day after when my girls were living at home...husband always offered to stay home and clean house if he didn't have to go...good deal. Today I am happy to shop online for deals with free shipping...I already have most everything bought in closets hiding and will enjoy staying home and decorating for Christmas, writing Christmas cards and enjoying the grandchildren! I have learned to hate crowds and much prefer staying away. Much prefer listening to Christmas music, decorating, eating leftovers etc...I'm sure the day will come when the grandaughters will want to go and if able will tag along if invited! The girls always picked out a special outfit they really wanted and it was called the "see it and forget it" gift...as soon as we got home it was wrapped and put under the tree...just killed them knowing what it was and they couldn't wear it until Christmas! Really fun watching them try and talk me into getting it early to wear somewhere special before Christmas...they knew the answer "no". |
I go every year even if I don't want anything-- because I always find something that I want! I also love the hustle and bustle. I thrive on being angry, lol. |
I worked in a mall as a retail manager for nearly a decade. I feel like I owe it to retail workers everywhere to NOT go shopping the weekend after Thanksgiving!!! |
I think about it for about 10 seconds and then say, "Naw." I'm an online shopper these days. I do need to do some store shopping this year and am already dreading it. I've noticed sales tomorrow and have sorta thought I could do that............I may be nuts. Not being able to walk all that far makes mall shopping anymore, too painful. Plus the older I get the more I hate crowds. So Black Fridays are out for me........as are most weekends and afternoon shopping. Enjoy yourself!! |
I don't Christmas shop, but it sounds like you and your sis will have a great time. What town are you staying in and where will you have Thanksgiving dinner? |

My sister, BIL, and neice live in Downer's Grove, so I'll be staying with them. We are going shopping in Aurora though! I'll have 2 Thanksgiving dinners this year: one on Thanksgiving with my sis and a second on Saturday with just hubby and I. This works out well for hubby too, all he'll want to do on Thursday is watch football anyway . |
You have lots of fun! Shopping is quality time when you go with family! |
I thought you were going to Michigan Ave. for a second and I thought you were crazy. But if you're going to the outlet malls you're even crazier!!!! |
I'm still debating if I have it in me to shop from 5am - 6:30am, then go work a 12 hr shift from 7am to 7pm.... |
Landofnod HAS to be for your sister!!! I love that place!! Have fun and hope your travels aren't a pain in the butt!!! I hate hate crowds and have never ....will never shop the day after Thanksgiving. I finished my christmas shopping a long time ago and am very thankful!! I get my kicks from the smell of holiday candles, holiday music, and having my kids pull my pants 100 times a day to make sure Santa knows they want an ironman action figure for Christmas. |
ha, mrs. j just reminded me that after they learn to write, we get those treasured christmas lists. |
