hi it depends on what result you require and what state your dog is in. if your dog is very matted then a 10f can be used on the badd matts or a 7fc if you can, it goes through quite easy and bet the worst of the sensative areas. 10f is quite a brutal cut but can also be used for descrite clipping if the coat isnt too matted. then try a skip tooth blade either a 7 or a 5 skip tooth. with this you can rough clip through a matted coat. leaving a little extra to use a fine blade to finish up. also there is wet shaving. this leaves a little bit more hair than what the blade says it will but make sure you have a circuit breaker. so after a wet shave then you dry and clip to finish after a nice cut is a 4fc or even better a 3fc. then after that in an unmatted coat there are combs that attach to your clippers when you clip before a bath, its more of a rough clip, getting all the hair off without the finish, it helps you get a longer blade through later when your dog is dry. i would try a 5 skip tooth and get your 4fc sharpened or get a new one. |
