You need to get some professional help right away to get this under control and never ever ever leave your newborn alone with the dog. I know that training costs money, but it is well worth it. |
First, I'd say if this has happened several times, then stop allowing your dog access to "little kids". If he likes biting them, and you know its an issue, then as the dog's owner, its irresponsible of you to put the children at risk by allowing your dog access to them. Second? Seek a professional dog trainer or dog behaviorist as soon as possible. The only way to take care of this behavior is with the help of a professional. Also, by not dealing with the behavior, you are actually re-inforcing it, which is going to make it more difficult to manage later on. In short? Don't let your dog near kids until you get some professional help dealing with this problem. It can be managed, but you will need to find the right trainer, and be ready to do the work needed to train your dog away from this undesireable behavior. Good luck! |
