Right now we have a blizzard. So no May flowers, and therefore no June brides, so cancel the July fireworks. |
In Louisville, Kentucky, beautiful May flowers and blooming trees usually bring thousands of women and men to our city wearing gorgeous hats and dresses and pastel sports jackets with colorful ties. The city is a riot of colorful flowers, characters and colors during Derby week! People from around the world come to see and be seen while watching beautiful horses race at historic Churchill Downs. Unfortunately, this year has been different due to Covina-19. Like most U.S. cities, Louisville has been eerily quiet until the Black Lives Matter protests began. Now we pray for equality and peace. Although our sweet spring blossoms are spent, we now have robust sultry flowers of summer in our gardens. As the Grateful Dead sang, "We will survive". |
