OH yes. The house at 65-68 is the norm here, and Chewie finds it hot. He lays out in the porch - even sleeps against the outside door all winter long. Today at our obedience trial it was really crowded - the only space for his crate was against an overhead door on an outside wall. Everyone else had avoided the draftiness, but for Chewie it was his perfect spot! |
Tiggy is sleeping on the outside of the back sliding glass doors as I type. Its not hot inside but she prefers the cooler outdoors and the breeze. |
Robin prefers the cold, also. So, in the house, the thermostat is set so she is comfortable. I just add layers of clothing to be comfortable. Now, tell me, who is the alpha? LOL! |
Bert does not want to be left alone....but he will move within eyesight to the tiled entry way in the evening. |
It has cooled down here in Florida to the upper 60's yeah I know...we are going to hit 80 on Friday, but I degress....All three of my dogs have enjoyed the cool down...all have been spending most of their time laying outside on the porch. The cat, however, has decided to come inside. lol |
Mady is loving the autumn weather in Ottawa. She experienced her first proper frost of the season and rolled around in pure bliss. I can' wait to see her with our first snowfall. |
We also heat and cool our house so Oscar can be comfy, while I run around in sweat pants, and the hubby sleeps with 7 blankets on at night. Oscar gets shaved on Tuesday.....wahoo! Laurie and Oscar, who wishes he didn't have to wear a fur coat.... |
Winston loves the cool weather also. He scratches at the door to go out within minutes of me letting him back in! It drives me crazy! He prefers to lay on the porch looking in the french doors at us! |
Nola still has her "I-Was-Rescued" cut so she's happy lying on the floor in the corner. I can't wait until I see her react with the snow! Sam, however, will lie outside on the porch whether it's 100 degrees or 25 degrees. He loves to play watch dog and peak his nose out thru the porch beams. teehee...too cute! |

LOL! I do the same thing, except I just shaved Sunny, so it's the opposite here now-I've been keeping the furnace cranked to keep her warm enough! She'll acclimatise soon enough, it's just that initial shock of going from a thick fur coat, to nothing that does her in. I had no idea she could curl up into a ball until we shaved her We act like we're alpha, but if she could understand us, she'd know that she rules the roost! Oh, and under normal circumstances and fur length, yes, she loves to sleep, sprawled out on the cement patio outside! I'll be on the couch and realize that she hasn't asked to be let in for a bit, and I ALWAYS think the worst as I fly to the window to check on her. |
Ditto on the chilly weather....When I first brought both my dogs home, I made their crates up so nice and warm and cozy, with blankets and pillows. Looked so comfy, I wanted to sleep in there... Within seconds, they both spent a few minutes pushing all the blankets out of the way and into a ball so they could sleep on the cold metal tray And, yes, by the way, we also set the inside temp according to what makes the dogs comfy...In winter, my 83 year old father threatens to call Adult Protective Services to get some heat |
Moe ..in the morning loves to lay on the deck degrees outside..as long he can see us |
