My husband basically lays across Hudson for the ear cleaner. And it's a nightmare to do. Then, up trots Rudy who sits in between us and gives us his ear, with this pleading look. I've now cleaned each one once (they were perfectly clean by the way), and have resorted to closing the bottle and pretending so he gets his turn. Rudy does the same thing when Hudson gets his drops. I put the cover back on the bottle and pretend to put some in his ear too. He wags his bum happily and kisses me after. And when Hudson needs pills shoved down his throat, there sits Rudy beside, mouth wide open. "Me next! Me next!" So now we're also giving him pretend pills. Then they both get a treat. I know we're totally indulging this, but he did start it himself. What a bizarre dog! He's jealous he's not getting his fair share of medical interventions. LOL Hudson, on the other hand, has asked us to sell Rudy on kijiji, and get him a sheepie brother with a little dignity. |

oow ! How cute! Sheepies are such a clever doggies ! |
Poor Hudson, I have a good idea of what your going thru. Rudy just wants you to know he'd never give you any trouble like Hudson does. Such a good boy!!!!!!! |
That is totally our house too. With Simon getting meds, the others are SURE he's getting special loves and insist on getting the attention. Nail trims are also a trigger. Even the ones who actually hate it hang right around me and vie for attention to get up on the grooming table next. Once up they aren't that thrilled....but they do it time after time after time.... And my human kids did it too. The girls used to get mad as toddlers if one got lab work (mostly finger sticks for hgb checks as preemie twins) and the nurses ended up actually JABBING the other one and getting blood to make her happy! ....yep, weird! |

Us too. They all come running like "Where's our medicine? We want it, too!" |
Bennett had horrible allergies all of his life, so he got used to haivng his ear cleaned and drops put in. He loved having his ear rubbed after the drops. Ben learned to roll over and give us the "other ear." We decided that he realized the medicine helped. And he taught the girls to "give me an ear" and "other ear." It makes life so much easier. |
Oh my goodness, I think I need to get another sheepie! It seems like they get exponentially cuter as you add more sheepies! I wish I could have a pack of 'em |
