It has been a gorgeous sunny day and I finished work early. So I broke my "no wine during the week" rule and Wayne and I sat out on the front veranda in the sun. I shut the gate and Tiggy and Rastus were out with us. They like to snuffle around in the front garden. We have had a lot of rain lately after a decade of drought and wooden gates etc are swelling and sticking. I thought I'd pushed the gate shut firmly. But Tiggy has always been one for testing any closed door or gate. In fact the very first night she was home with me she found out that the kitchen door didn't latch properly and by the time I'd gotten into bed she had opened the door and was sitting beside the bed looking very happy with herself. So as you can imagine Tiggy got the front gate open. Thank goodness I saw her make a dash for freedom. I was out the gate not far behind her and maybe because I sounded so panic stricken or maybe because there were no cats to be seen she actually came straight back to me. I suppose two years of obedience training may have helped a little too. It was so weird, she is usually such a velcro girl but I guess she feels comfortable in her own front yard. Thank goodness she didn't run across the road, even though we live in a very quiet street and there were no cars I think I would have had a heart attack. Tiggy has blogged about it. David and Kim she's passed on a message for you. http://tiggy-tigster.blogspot.com/2010/10/i-gave-my-mum-heart-attack-today.html |

Tiggy, tell your mum to save SOME wine for us! It must have been amusing to see how fast your mum can run when she wants to! Next time wait until she has had a glass or two before you sneak out the gate, then you can really have some fun watching her chase you! |
Oh, and as for the 'no wine during the week' rule, I didn't realize Aussies were such lightweights! Gotta go run and hide from your mum, now, Tiggy! |
It was only this week!!! Does that count? I'm spending 3 days at Lisaoes's for the OES National Championship weekend. I figured I should give my liver a rest beforehand. |
Hi Tiggy, this is Mady, tell your mum to stop being selfish and share the wine, it's actually very tasty! I got my own bottle at the cottage! |
You may need to ensure that your equivalent of the animal protection society don't see that photo. Tiggy preferred the nice salty chips that I was doling out this evening whilst having another 'breaking my rule' wine in the sun on the front veranda. |
Way too smart............. ..for her mother too, I believe Lucky Mady |
