Does he really need a harness? If control on the leash is not an issue, just a plain collar would work best. The rolled leather kind tend to mat the coat less but something more fast-drying and colorfast (some leathers have a tendency to bleed color onto the dog) would work better if the dog is in the water frequently. If you need a harness for extra control, we've used the Gentle Leader Harness and it works really well. It's only left on the dog for walking and then removed in the house so we didn't experience any matting. Beyond that, I've never used a harness on an OES unless it's the automobile restraint type. |
i prefer a harness, and after hours of research found what i needed. incase anyone else is looking i got mine from www.dog-games.co.uk it might sound mad, but he actually looks chuffed to bits when he wears it |

lol, i'm sorry! chuffed to bits, means very happy, very proud. i dont like the idea of just a collar incase of neck and throat injuries, also i find it easier to grab the harness if i have to pull him away from a situation. he cant slip out of it and run off, i have always used harnesses with all my dogs, its just something i am used to. |
