Playing with Treats

We have a year old OES who has this silly but playful way of playing with his treats (bones, snacks, rawhides). When he first gets the treat, he flicks them around the room, chases after them, tosses them about, ignores them for a while and then goes back at it again before eating them. It's not really a problem, we are just wondering if our dog is bizarre or what?

I havent seen a sheepie do that but my Mom's terrier did it all the time.
nope, been there, done that. later in age, he would work on a bone pronto, but then after a bit of chewing proceed to pace about for a hiding spot.
Riley, our almost 2 year old OES does that all the time! It's pretty funny to watch... except when we are at the pet store. They always give her a treat and we have to wait forever because she wants to play with it instead of eating it! But at home, she will throw it around the room, jump on it, pounce on it, and then either hide it or eat it.
Izzie will do it sometimes, but only with broccoli...i think it has something to do with the round shape.
My guys like to pick the cherry tomatoes out of the garden and do the same. They only get the ripe ones also ha! Then they run around and fling them in the air and pounce on them. Eventually eating them.
