Then, today, we were at the dog park when a mother and her six year old son came by to visit the all of the dogs. The boy, as explained by the mother, had autism and was visually impaired. She asked if he could touch Mady. Mady trotted over and just kept brushing by the boy over and over, rubbing along but gently, letting him pet her and hug her. The boy didn't speak, but he sure could smile and laugh. Really cute kid. Mady lavished attention on him. When it came time to leave, she insisted on accompanying him to the edge of the park, keeping close to him but not knocking him off balance. So all of this babbling to say that I love my Mady girl to bits and wish that I could be as sweet as she is. She seems to really know when her special sheepie powers are needed most. Of course, I can only share such stories with you guys, as you will understand! When I say this kind of thing at work, they just give me that look. You know the look. |

What great stories!! Mady is a very special girl who embodies what makes sheepies so special. |
Good girl Mady! Now you need your uprights to get you some sheep to care for too. Hopefully Lisaoes will post her experience of sheepies and kids with autism. |
Maybe Mady has a career as a touch therapy dog in her future. |

That is so sweet. How lucky you guys came across her dog friend...it is so frightening that she could have been hit on the road. Maybe therapy work is in her/your future.... ...it is a very rewarding volunteer career! |
