I have always started to pluck my pups ears as soon as they have settled in to their new home.I start by just pulling a few hairs out with my thumb and finger and then gradually build up to using doggie tweezers.I also use Thornit ear powder before plucking as it helps to get a grip of the hairs.Don't use it whilst drops are going in the ears though. |
Yep, this is training time, just a few hairs at a time. You want them to get used to it, like with brushing and toe rubbing for nail trimming. The more you handle them now, the better they will be later. |
thanks for the info, shadow is our 2nd OES , we lost Sasha 6 weeks ago and i could not remeber what age i started, shadow lets us feel toes ears and rub his gum, and love being brushed, thank you all for advice. |
