Loss of my Daisy Mae....................

We lost our beloved Daisy Mae on Wednesday Octiber 6, 2010. The sadness is so terrible. The boys are grieving her more than I have ever seen before. I see them listening for her bark when they get home from school, I see my husband getting out of bed in the morning and looking for his girl to go outside with and I see myself trying to check her water bowl to see that there is fresh water in it. She was 13 years old and we had her for 11 of those. She was our best friend and the best Nanny for 4 boys you could ever want. There were like her puppies. When they would wrestle or argue she would get between them and bark and growl until they stopped. All you had to do was say the word "ride" and she was out by the truck door wagging her tail. Now the house is quiet, empty and there are no more stray sticks laying by the door. No one ever told me that when I got my Old English Sheep dog that the pain of losing her would be so intense. Even if the would of, I don't think I would of changed a thing. Most people don't know what they are missing with thier pets unless the get a chance to love a OES!!!! I was one of the blessed chosen few. I would post a picture but I can't see where to do that.

Im sorry for your lose as well. I lost my first sheepie 14 years ago and I still miss her. My heart goes out to you and your family. :cry:

I'm so sorry. Daisy Mae was blessed to have been cherished by a loving and compassionate family. The hole left in our hearts when it's time for them to leave is enormous. But it's so much better to have loved this special girl for the time she was allowed to have on this earth than to have missed it entirely.

I can't imagine life without one of these wonderful companions. Hoping if/when the time in right that you'll risk the inevitable hurt again by loving a second OES. Wishing you and your family peace.

Daisy Mae sounds an incredible girl. I am so sorry you have lost her. She is at peace now playing over the Rainbow Bridge with all our lovely sheepies that have gone on ahead of us. I am so sorry your family hurt so much I am crying for you. Stay here and talk to us it will really help. I hope you can show us a photo of your lovely girl..hugs to you and all your family...xxxx

My heart breaks for you and your family... yes, it is very hard to get on with your normal day to day life because a big part of it is now gone with the passing of Daisy Mae. It's been almost 2 years for us since we lost Molly and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about her. I have another OES (Kody) that we ended up with almost 3 weeks after she passed but as much as I love him you never forget one of your babies! Please know it does get easier and if it is to be you'll get another furbaby when you are ready. Big hugs to you :ghug:
