Frankie and the Opossum

We went outside tonight for the last time. Frankie ran around the corner to the other side of the yard I thought he was chasing a bunny... Nope a big ol Opposum. He chased it up the fence line alittle, it was hissing like mad at him. Frankie was a little intimidated, sniffing it stretched out so he didn't have to get to close to it. Of course he didn't mind me when I said leave it, and wasn't sure if I should go running and grab him up and away from it. So I decided to trick him by saying Daddies Home.... Nope no reaction.... Leave it still didn't work. So I grabbed his stuffed zeebie (zebra) that he takes out when he has to poop. I squeaked it. He came running, the Opposum ran under the fence and went into the neighbors yard. Thank goodness it didn't get viscious. When we had pyrs they would of destroyed it. Frankie soon pottied, played a little ball and completely forgot what had happened.

What a night.

Yeah, OES aren't great at ridding the yard of varmits...unlike the Pyrs. More likely they get themselves into trouble.

My last Pyr is 12, she doesn't give a hoot anymore. She's into sleeping and eating, and a bit of 4 am barking. The other day she came tearing around the corner of the house and threw herself against the laundry room door.....fear in her eyes. (Pyrs in fear??) I knew immediately the big hissing sky monsters were coming down the valley.....hot hair balloons. Jack and Harry told them to go away, MO stood inside the front door and trembled, Glacier found the darkest spot in the house...........Boys 2, Girls, woosies.
That is so funny. The big hissing sky monsters. Years ago I remember the pyrs barking like crazy and we couldn't figure out at what. There was a hot air balloon landing across the street every time the burner went off they went nutso. Ever since that time every time Auggie saw a hot air balloon he wanted it so bad. I read your post to my husband and he laughed so hard. Pyrs want to protect you from everything.

We have hot air balloons go over too.
Tiggy is dreadfully afraid of them. She doesnt like that they sneak up on her and then hiss loudly without warning.
Last time one went over she stood in the backyard and trembled all over. I had to go out and bring her in, I think she was too scared to even run.
