If you mean cleaning their behind, I use baby wipes to clean up in the butt area...or slightly wet paper towels...I also keep the hair around the butt shorter...we call it a "poop shoot" ... |
Or, if you mean feet, I try to wipe them of really quick with a towel and the let them dry out while I'm at work. Then I come home, brush their feet and vacuum up all the dirt that fell off during the day. |
Quote: vacuum up all the dirt that fell off during the day. Boy, I sure happy to read others have this chore. When the dew-wet feet meet the bare dirt every a.m. I know there will be plenty for the dust bin later. |

I use a dry mop along the passage and through the kitchen seem to gettumble weed (hair) floats about! |
if you can stretch to one, buy a dehumidifier, it'll help dry out a damp sheepie, that and place a lot of towels down on the floor, don't be tempted to rub the legs dry, you'll be in Matt HELL, thd air drying and dirt dropping off is the way I have gone with Archie. |
our garden is flooded at the moment and is nothing short of a mud bath, and no area we can fence off. we have a field at the back of us that is higher then our garden so there is not much we can do about it. (roll on summer) i do my best to just let him out just to do what he needsd to do. but like now its bonfire night and there is fireworks going off, so even when i leave it till late till i let them out, they tare around the garden slipping and sliding and the state they come in after 5 minutes max is unbelievable sooooo... i have a washing up bowl full of water outside the back door to wash off the worst of the mud then towel dry. i just lucky i only have one furry beast! its either that or its the muddy mops of feet throught the house |
My husband taught Howie to "towel off' when he was just 10 weeks old. Howie comes in the house, we say 'towel off' he runs right into the laundry room and dries his face on his towel on the floor. We follow and dry his paws. This works well. BUT, the other day I was cooking in the kitchen and happened to look over at Howie just as he was drying his beard off on my clean DISHTOWEL that was hanging on the fridge door! ugh. I guess my task this week is to fix a hook low on the wall and hang a special towel just for Howie. Dehumidifier and dry mop sound like good ideas. peg |

Could you please send your husband to our house for a few days to teach this to Mady?? I would love to have it so that my lap was not used as a drying towel. |
