I am nobody's expert but Hines is on Blue Buffalo Large Breed Puppy; the breeder had him on Diamond Large Breed puppy food. His coat is great, he loves to eat, and there have been no adverse stomach issues. As a new owner, I was extremely freaked out by the whole dog food thing and did a whole lot of research on it.

Honestly, it is a decision that you have to feel comfortable with. I talked extensively with the breeders (they were a great help on this) and the vet. There is a lot of research online that suggests you watch the protein and calcium intake and this was verified by my vet. Also, check out www.dogfoodanalysis.com.
I believe Blue Buffalo just recalled some of their food. Check their website.

You would be best off to feed what the breeder fed the puppy and ween her off slowly into a food you like. Change the food very very slowly. A few new food with the old...and then more new food with the old...then mainly new food with the old...you get it I'm sure

Whatever food works for your dog is best. We do wll on Orijen. Used the Orijen puppy and now use Orijen Adult. Many people do well on Wellness Foods...some cook for their dogs...Are you looking to use kibble, canned or home cook? If home cooking for a puppy, be sure to sue a reciepe that provides the vitamins and nutrients a puppy needs to develop fully.

Maybe you can ask your breeder...
FYI...She's right...Blue Buffalo did just have a recall of the following:

Product Bag Size Best Used By Dates
BLUE Wilderness Chicken (Dog) 4.5 lb., 11 lb., 24lb. JUL1211B, JUL1311B, JUL2611Z, JUL2711Z, JUL2811Z
BLUE Basics Salmon (Dog) 11 lb., 24 lb. AUG2111B, AUG2211B
BLUE Large Breed Adult Chicken 30 lb. SEP 22 11 P, SEP 23 11 P, OCT 26 11 P

They've also stated in the letter that these are the only ones that have been recalled...Hope this helps
I feed Ryleigh the Blue Buffalo Large breed puppy food too. Glad it wasnt on the recall list. The only problem I have with it is it sure is small bite size for "large breed" sometimes the little pieces can get caught. But I like it because it doesnt have all the corn filler stuff in it like so many others have. But if you do switch food, do it very slowly, other wise can have tummy issues. Good luck :D
I believe the original poster was from the UK, so many of the brands mentioned won't pertain

If you stick with Kibble i would try the natural dog food company.

You can also buy good wet food aswell http://www.naturediet.co.uk/ If he doesn't like kibble.

or you could mix some wet in with the kibble.

Or you could go raw :D

Have you tried mixing some wet food (natures diet) with the kibble ?

Also you are soaking the kibble ? I know it might be a daft question but you wouldn't be the first person i have talked to that didn't realise it needed soaking for a pup.

I mixed some wet food with the kibble larst night and he eat some of that. but i did think of making some gravey and soaking the kibble you think that will work???
my puppy is on ukenuba large breed puppy food and he loves it and is growing well.
im in the UK.
Right the kibble needs soaking with hot water (leave to cool before you feed it). Pups can't chew hard kibble .

If you go for kibble try to get a rice based one rather than cereal based .
