this is the first time posting here i bought a OES puppy (4months old) from a guy who i met at PETsMART. When i saw the dog, she was shaking her leg, but i thought she was just nervous or something. now she's 5 month old, but she sometimes shakes her legs. i am raising her inside of the house, and take her out often. and when she runs, i kind of notice from behind that, she is more of jumping back legs tobether, then use one by one. what should i do? |

Oh Drat!
I'd have the vet evaluate the dog. It could be any number of conditions, some quite bad. There's a chance the pup will grow out of this, but ....... Without a diagnosis from the vet, there's no way we can give you advice. And if the news is bad (which I pray it isn't), ask yourself how much you are willing and able to put into medical care for this dog. Of course you didn't get a health guarantee for the pup. So the seller is not going to take the pup back..........and you've already given the dog your heart anyway. Reputable breeders will give health guarantees......varying with individual breeders. That's part of the selection process. Don't beat yourself up over this. We've all impulse bought a pup or kitten. Most times it worked out, sometimes not. Right now your pup needs to be elvaluated and you have to decide what you can do. Top on the list is to LOVE this little sheepie. I have a deaf, half blind dog that bunny hops because her back end is so bad that I took from the shelter........I knew what I was getting.......and with love, patience, and pain relievers......she is developing into a fun dog who has a warm, safe and loving home. |
I would take her to the vet to have her checked out.
Yikes!! Well...that guy was probably looking for money, eh?? Beware of people like that--if you're looking for a dog from a breeder, get it from someone who shows, does health tests, and who's breeding dogs have won a few titles. Health guarantees, too. |
I cringed when I read that your dog bunny hops with her back legs. Having a dog with hip dysplasia, this is what Drez would do before her surgery. A vet visit is definitely in order, and quickly.
But don't jump to any conclusions until you hear what the vet says. If your pup was 4 months old when you bought her, maybe she was abused, in which case the back leg problem could get better with time. Please let us know how you make out. Chris |
thank you for showing your concerns..
i'll take her to vet to see if there's anything wrong with her. hope you all have a great week |
