Was it Wendy in New Zealand who lasted 16 or 17 years? My girl is getting close to 13 too. wow! |
I've lost 2 at 14 years. We tried to find out also as one of my friends in NZ her girl was 18 years and 1 week old when she passed. I put out posts on other lists and what I heard was an OES in the UK living till 23, I dont know if that can be actual because when I asked for details, non followed that orginal post & reply as to who it was living till 23 and how long ago was that, no answer there at all. 13 is a grand age so enjoy each milestone with your precious. |
Wonder if that's the same NZ girl........... |
jemjem.... Welcome to the forum~~ How is Big Jem's health??? Does she have any issues???? I have a 14 yr old. ~~Pearl. She is in relatively good health. She has Cushings that is not effecting her at this point. She still jumps on the couch and in the car, although I try to help her, she will have none of it!!!!! Her appitite is good and she 'tries' to play..(mostly she just jumps up and down and barks... ) She is still an active therapy dog and is involved in the PAWS reading program at our local library. I know, at this age, that every day is a gift and I cherish her every minute! |

My 14 year old beardie, Millie, was doing fine except for some hip problems...Then one day she slipped on the hard wood floor ...and that was the end. So quick!!! Not expecting it!! Very hard for all of us, especially Pearl. So I have learned NOT to take for granted each day with her!! I snuggle and cuddle her as much as I can...and hope that when the day comes to help her to the bridge, I will be strong enough and unselfish enough not to let her suffer, but to be there till the end. In the meantime...I enjoy her, and I DO cherish her. She is the sweetest, kindest pupper I have ever had. She has a great sense of humor and is always up for an adventure. She is my PEARLGIRL!!!!!! |

And her 18th Birthday cake She passed away a week later went to bed and did not wake up, like she was holding out for turning 18 then said time to rest forever now. |

Champas looks like a very distinguished lady. Sorry to learn of your loss. 18. That's amazing. I am reminded of the American fitness (and juicer) icon, Jack Lalanne (pictured here with his equally fit dog: http://www.jacklalanne.com/). Seems like New Zealand dogs do not eat an American diet. Are there McDonald's and Burger King's in New Zealand? |
