No worries, we headed down to the four or five pens they have on the grounds. A pig, some rabbits, and two "larger creatures" live there. All are safely secured within their pens. Rudy was pretty tuckered from his walk (he behaves much better with other dogs when he's tired of course), so Gordon walked him calmly to the pen with the "larger animals." Rudy saw that they were a little taller and much heavier than he was, and his ears went back and all his muscles tensed. I was sure he was about to start snarling when something appeared to catch his attention and he sat very calmly and respectfully down, looking quite sheepishly at them, head slightly down and off side to them with no direct eye contact. I think it totally blew his mind to see these two "dogs" with these HUGE horns sticking out of their heads. (horns in smiley NOT to scale) So, Rudy decided discretion really IS the better part of valour, and walked quietly away, turning to stare at them incredulously as we walked back across the grounds. I guess that was Rudy's first experience coming face to face with goats. Big, honking, stare you down and don't even blink....goats. It's nice to know that even Rudy has his limits. |

We've all heard of the movie "Men Who Stare At Goats". Maybe this is the sequel; "Goats Who Stare At Dogs". |
