In need of some suggestions

I didn't know what to title this.

I've briefly mentioned Frankies obsession with Troy. It just gets worse. Frankie can be sound asleep somewhere. Troy can unrecline his recliner, and before he can get his feet on the ground Frankie is standing there wiggling. He thinks that daddy is going to take him out. How do we get it to stop?
I told Troy last night don't pet him when he comes over to you when your trying to get up. Maybe it 's the attention he wants. I just don't know. Frankies Pt calls Troy Disney Land Dad. Maybe Frankie thinks it's playtime.

Any thoughts.

Are you jealous? MO is that way with DH. She sleeps with him, is on her feet when he gets up, etc. Sometimes they just form a bond with another person, doesn't mean that Brick doesn't love you, he is just responding to something that Troy and Brick have together.
No not jealous at all. But we just don't think Frankie should be getting up and jumping on him all of the time. I kind of think he doesn't need to go outside everytime Troy does. Troy gets up to go out and smoke, and Frankie thinks it means daddies going to take me out to play.

Personaly, I find it enduring. Frankie loves Troy (isn't that a song). HOWEVER, have Troy just ignore Frankie and go about his business and Frankie may stop his love obsession.
No matter what I do for any of the dogs we've ever had they all seem to love Carl best.
Yep, he wants to go outside and play. Maybe Troy needs to be throwing the Frisbee insted of smoking........think he'll learn?? Nope.

Troy could give the down and stay command........yeah, in another life.
Chauncey is 5 and has always been protective of 6'4", 225lb "dad". If Bobby moves he follows. They often go into the bedroom to watch TV, if I walk near the bedroom or bath Chauncey will get up and position himself on that side of the bed.
It was a real problem when he was about 9 mos - a year or so. He would nip or grab me if I got too close....I ended that pretty quickly, but it was a real problem.
Could Frankie be overly protective of Troy?
Well I tried the recliner today and he does the same thing. It's just not Troy. The clanking sound does something to him. Oh well I guess thats why there called velcro dogs.

I think you are right; its just a velcro dog thing. My girls come racing from where ever they are, even if they are sleeping, if they hear the lid of the toilet touch the water tank. They race into the bathroom and settle in to keep me company. I think it started when I was being sick very regularly, and now they have to ALWAYS be there, in case ... well who knows why they always have to be there. But they do. RAther than train them to not do it, I appreciate that they love me, and are concerned, and what to be there. Some people have pets that couldn't care one bit about them; I much prefer that my dogs care too much!

He's conditioned to the sound meaning something fun... kind of like Pavlov's dogs salivating to the sound of a bell which meant food. Maybe you could counter condition him to have the recliner clanking sound mean he's going to have a tubby or get his nails trimmed. 8)
