Oh my! I wouldn't have even thought about that! Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to take precautions! |
We have a big straw-like-plastic mat, that folds out to about 9x12 or some similar large size (it was about $50! ) and it's great for around a campsite.
Dirt doesn't come up through, but any rain goes through it, and it sure is easy to clean. You can stake it down into the ground through metal eyelets to keep it in place. Hey, I found em at campingworld... $60 (PC price) http://www.campingworld.com/browse/prod ... rodID=4807 Well, I found someone selling them on ebay Buy-it-now only (not an auction) for $69 including shipping (which'll be pricey, it's heavy)... so maybe my $50 wasn't too bad, and Camping World's $60 not too terrible. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... BIN_Stores 6x9 for $50 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... otohosting We were in Quartzite Arizona and didn't find them for much less than $50 in all the billions of flea markets there... and we looked. Maybe wal-mart has'em cheaper now. |
Those are much more pretty then our in/outdoor green turf carpets. I always take a rubber broom and clean our campsites out, and spread everything to cover...it works very well for 2 minutes.
The kids want to play, and in mere seconds we have twigs, and branches piled up. I swear it is so much easier to train a dog to listen then a 4 yr old. We just have to grin and bear it, all part of the experience I guess. One thing I will do different is Remy and the new pup will have their own area, and their own carpet to lay down on with a tarp for rain and shade. Most likely they will sleep inside with us for the night. |
