OMG, Clyde is 6 already?
I love this dog so much, I can't even express it. There couldn't have been a better boy to introduce me to this breed. I can't imagine my life without him. Happy birthday fat boy! |

| Would you have gotten Owen if Clyde had been a ding bat? I like the guys too, tho sometimes they can pull my chain.....and smile about it. It's not just a guy thing, Glacier is also good at that. |

| Happy Birthday Clyde!!!! I know what you mean about their age creeping up on you..Violet is going to be 8 in Nov. I adopted her as a rescue at 9 mts...it just seems like yesterday. China is going to be 7 in Dec. Sometimes I panic thinking they are going into the late stages of their lives...I try not to think about it. |

| Happy Belated 6th Birthday Clyde!!!! I know what you mean about feeling like they are over the hill even though they are six. I just keep reminding myself that there are a lot of people on this forum that have sheepdogs in the double digits that are still active. Keep your fingers crossed that Clyde gets to be one of those. In the meantime show him how much he means to you by buying him a hamburger. |
| Happy belated 6th Birthday, Clyde!! You're so right, Jill. It is hard to believe they're turning six this year. Beaureguard will be six in November. I keep telling myself "it's not THAT old". It helped, too, that I met Ursula's girl at the picnic on Saturday and she looked so puppy like and got around so well - she's 12! Ursula told me she didn't start her in agility until she was 8! I mentally heaved a sigh of relief thinking "whew, it's not as late as I thought."  How'd Clyde celebrate??  |

With his advanced age and super advanced fatness, I decided to start this birthday off right and not do anything to contribute negatively to his health. Now that he's getting older, I really feel like I have to make a better effort to thin him out a little so he won't have mobility issues. He's huge for an OES just in build alone (not just because he's tubby!). On the super plus side, he's the most puppy-like out of all the dogs and he's the oldest. He's always the one to initiate play, always the one to play with any visiting puppies and he still shakes toys like he did when he was 12 weeks old! |
