Top knots

Do you guys leave your pups topknots in all the time? Or just when you go out?

I’m trying to teach Hank to like his, but he just constantly pulls it ½ out, then its just as bad as having the hair in his face….

The poor guy can’t seem to see either way!

All the time except when we take out for bath. Then I give that area a little break. Wait until the afternoon and put up again.

My dog used to do what you're describing allllll the time. The more I said No rubbing..., stopped the behavior (caught it as soon as it was happening), and learned to put them in tighter ...they stay in longer. Sometimes she still messes it up to a point I have to re-do the next day, but it's not that often.
In all the time here too.
Only out to redo it, or to let the hair/skin thoroughly dry after a bath.
Same here... those with topknots keep them in all the time except during baths/drying and redos.

I normally only have to put them up 1-2 times a day. I must have put Bumble's topknot up 5 times
today because Kobucky-boy keeps pulling out the little elastic band when they're wrestling around.
He can't see when his hair is down.
Bella's is in all the time here. I did switch to a stronger rubberband that is made for horses. The ones I bought for dogs and in the hair section for kids at Walmart seemed to break easy if she rubbed. Now I only have to fix it every 5 days or so. I also so how the groomer put it in extra tight. She used her comb to get one more extra wrap around the top knot. That held her for 2 weeks.
billies is in all of the time, but him being a very pampered pooch! he now has the art of scratching his doo and needing it to be redone, and believe me its not the normal scratch. upon saying to him come on billy lets do your hair, he lovingly sits right infront of me so he can have his hair done. not that his spoilt or anything...
Most dogs don't like the hair being held up tight i.e pulled up tight.

I pull up my dog's hair loose but I tie the rubber band tight.

(So that he doesn't get the -hair being pulled up tight feel and scratch his head on the sofa or anywhere to loosen it). I hope you understood the way I tie my boy's top knot.

It must be something with "Billies". 8)
I say to Billy Bumble, "Let's do you hair!"
He trots directly to the grooming tote where the hair bands and combs
are located. I'm just thankful none of them tries to hide from me!

I agree... the band needs to be tight but the hair comfortably loose. I pull
the topknot apart slightly after tying it up so the dog can close his/her eyes
normally. 8O
my other half once did billies hair when i was out. poor billy came running to me, eyes red raw, his top knot was so tight he had the startled look 8O . and couldnt blink poor billy. andy was then banned from doing his hair!
you can always put a few in!

I love all the topknots and colorful bands! :D
very nice top knots. :clappurple: Our boy Bert hates the top knot and we don't make him wear it....he does run into things sometimes.
