Heart started a RIOT!!!!
 Both Pearl and Heart have not been brushed for about 2 weeks..maybe a little longer..So tonight I started with Pearl, which took about 1 1/2 hours..then I did Heart with took about an hour. After everyone was done........ Pearl was laying in the middle of the room, and Heart went up to her and began licking her face. Pearl did nothing,layed there like a statue. Heart walked away and went back to relick her mouth, Pearl's reaction was the same...like a statue.... THEN... The silent COBRA STRUCK and all HELL broke loose!!!!  With NOT so much as a snarl, Pearl turned to Heart's face and did ""something"" (I heard jaws chomp)..Heart SCREAMED and tried to turn away !!!!! ( she doesn't cry too often, whine???? ALWAYS, not an actual cry from pain!!!!)..Well, as she turned, she ran right into Coz who was waiting to pounce on the 'underdog'..He began to growl and get his neckhairs up..SO there was Heart in the middle of Pearl the Cobra, (she was 'willing' Heart ..."'MOVE...just blink,, and your dead"..  her stance was tall over Heart's head)...on the other side, Coz...ready to 'attack' his nemisis..and Heart???? Well,,,,,she just layed there like a sphinx!!! I don't even think she was breathing..  I didn't see any BLOOD, so I decided to watch to see how this tragedy would play out...After about a minute..I swear I could have run to get my camera to snap a great pic and NO one would have moved a toenail...still NO movement..I, then took over as the 2nd ALPHA in line..and told Pearl to " to go TUFFET!!!" , I faced Coz and told him to "Knock it off"..They went to their designated corners..... Heart???? Still no movement!!!  I went to her and checked her out...nothing outwardly injured..well, her pride, for sure!!!  I went to go take a bath..Heart always comes with....As I was running the water, Heart kept licking the air...I went to inspect the problem and LO and BEHOLD...The middle of Heart's TONGUE was bleeding....A little puncture wound, bleeding pretty good...poor Heart!!!! As I left the bathroom, after a rather relaxing bath, considering...Pearl was waiting in the hall..AS soon as Heart SAW her...she froze!!!!!!!! until Pearl, rather smugly, stared at her and turned to walk away....  As anyone can attest to...Heart is a bully with Coz and a pushy little 'bi@ch with Pearl...so I figure this was comeupence for her (Heart's ) bad behavior...I think Heart would love to take over the TOP DOG spot from Pearl.. ..it is very evident. ..Pearl is not ready to RETIRE from that position just yet!!!!!!!!!!  |

| Usually it is mostly noise........not always, I got tired of puncture wounds dished out by Sam. He was getting cranky. Glad it remained blood free....we hope. Keep on eye on Pear around her face. Maybe just a mouth full of hair. |

Patch does that - she will go straight up to a dog and lick their face. But only once. Walks away and that is that. Just a little friendly "how-do-you-do." Most dogs reciprocate, but there have been a few who do not appreciate it. Patch is pure passive, she does not want to be alpha so i truly believe her efforts are geared to let the dog know she is friendly and please do not be mean to her. |
 Patch is such a sweetie...Heart however, knows which buttons to push on poor Pearl ( and Coz and Harry, for that matter))) and, simply put....pushes them again, and again...and again ...until Pearl can't take it anymore!!!!!!  |
| oh been there and thru all of it. more than i wanted, and never WANT to do again! As much as I loved Bella, she was just way tooo Alpha for any other girls in the house. Boys were fine, just no other girls. Caly is a lot like Heart I think. She 'pushes' her mom at times. Dee will turn around and just one look and a 'snarl' and Caly will back down. Checker's? Heck he wont go near them if they are in the door way and he wants water, he will come get me..... "MOM, I want the water bowl and the girls are laying in front of it". such a woosy big turkey! |
