Interesting! I had an app for pill tracking, but really never found the utility in it. I'm gonna look into this category! |
I don't have that one but I have "Lose It!" which I use to record all food and exercise. It calculates your calorie goals for the day based on your height/weight and what you want to lose within whatever length of time you select. I am also using C25K (another one like it is Get Running) which I like a lot. I have one called Yoga Stretch but I don't really use it, even though I love yoga. |
have you had success with the lose it app??? |
Yes, in that it makes me account for my calorie intake and exercise! It's all a mental thing, you know? You have to care about what you are entering and what your end result of each day and week are. If you don't care or just skip a day or get out of the habit of doing it, it's not like the app comes knocking on your door to get your butt in gear. |
I use myfitnesspal and I love it! Preparation is the key and make sure that you load everything you put into your mouth!! I don't use it to count my calories burnt though as I have a heart rate monitor. I also use Tabata apps to do workouts and the 100 sit up/push up/squats app. I hope at helps. |

I have used a similar one in the past. I had to keep track of how many calories I was burning when skating, so I could be sure to get enough in me to have energy. I lost a ton of weight skating and tracking my calories. Then, when I got to my ideal weight, it helped me maintain it. You learn to read labels. A LOT. |

I've been using "RunKeeper" for walking... but it seems a bit cumbersome to use linked to facebook. It has to go through facebook apps and the whole online interface isn't very cohesive. The app on the iPhone itself is very nice. The GPS could be better, but I think that's more a problem with the iPhone GPS than the application itself. |
Started the Lose It app the summer of 2011 and lost over 50 pounds. Started at a gym too which was part of the reason. Let it slide a bit since I hit a plateau but started tracking my calories again with the app this year. Trying not to gain any weight back after having surgery and just lying around. I really like the user friendly aspect of Lose It! |
If you, or anyone on here, decides to go with fitnesspal, my user name is travelbug70... I can always use more buddies in my friends list. |
How do the apps check your weight as you can cheat |
