Rochester Area
My very favorite Champagne in the WORLD is Taylor Pink Champagne. We bought 10 cases for our wedding 20 years ago! Does anyone know if they are anywhere near or on the way???? Will it be wine season (never been to something like this before either.... err clarification vinyards, not nationals, lol). I know there are outlet stores around as Maree from Australia is coming and already said she is taking over the outlet malls. I think we need to organize a sheepie vinyard crawl for one of the free afternoons, lol!!! i'll bring my benedryl so i can breathe. |

   I LOVE mapqwest!!!! WOOOO HOOOO!!! It's only an hour and a half drive to the Vinyard and they offer free tours!!! ummmmmmmmmm need a driver please!!!! lol know where i am going for my one afternoon off. lol!! | Anywhere around the Finger Lakes is wine country. A nice string of vineyards can be found on Rte. 14 as it heads south along Seneca Lake from Geneva to Watkins Glen. Nice drive, as well. And there's a big outlet mall in Waterloo. You can see it from the Thruway (Interstate 90). |
I agree with Mark. That lake has really good wineries on it and it is only a little over 1 hour from Rochester. Hubby and I do that lake wine tour every year and most of the wineries have free tastings. A lot of great places for lunch at the wineries as well. I am up for a nice jaunt......can we bring our fluffballs????? Bella loves a good drive and the feel of wind in her hair  |
| ABSOLUTELY!!! let's get together a caravan and all go and take our fuzzy friends too! i'll bet the vinyard people will have a blast too! Anyone else up for it? When can we do it? Will have to be after Agility and Rally and OB aand before the regular Classes. hmmmmmmmm we could do an afternoon/evening one and have dinner somewhere. |

| And while you guys are in Rochester, you HAVE to go to Dinosaur BBQ. Dinosaur started here in Syracuse first. Then they opened a place in Harlem, NYC and then Rochester. They were just voted best BBQ in the country on ABC a year or so ago. UNBELIEVABLE food. I love their pulled pork, their sweet corn bread, and their baked beans. Oh, and I've had a taste of one of their seasoned steaks. WOW. Had to be some of the best steak I've ever had. I'm sure if you poke around in that link I posted, you can find their menu. |

| hmmmmm good question! I say we go after Agility or Obedience or Herding!! I think we will have to see the schedules to get an idea on times available. Then i say let's let Judy or Val decide,,,,,,,, lol. They are good at organizing. My vote is just to get the the Taylor winery! lol |
LeAnne and I are in...Bre will be with, but she's a good egg about all that stuff  She has been to our local vineyard, winetasting, all that. Thank goodness she is a very adult-friendly acclimated kid. And a good BBQ rates way up there too. |
Aww- i moved from Rochester to Oakland two months ago and i cant believe im misssing the show!!! I personally think Dino Bbq is overrated- Sticky lips is much much better. Although i have to admit, Dino seems to attract more tourists and bikers than sticky lips. Another place you must try is ( a rochester staple) is the california rollins sushi bar. It's in the village gates part of rochester and Their sushis are out of this world!!!!! Perfect place for those who cringe at the idea of eating sushi's. Traditionalists will not like this place because they break every rule of sushi making!  they have different kinds of theme- check out their website for ideas and make sure you go on a sunday because it's three rolls for 12 dollars. My favorite is the bourbon roll ( crispy crawdads with bacon and some kind of cajun sauce). The valerie is also so freakin good. Gosh, my mouth is watering just from thinking of that place. I miss rochester! Btw- going the wine country in the fall is just perfect! You guys will have so much fun. Check out the arcadian winery and the bully hill winery. Great, fun and quirk wineries. I vote for after herding. Bella is going and if she does well at the testing we will be ready to celebrate.  Hubby is super excited to see how Bella is going to go with the sheep. |

| Heard it thru the grapevine..... there will be wine tasting from Finger Lakes Wine Assc. on Thursday during puppy match. I will need my share to show Hailey for the first time. Hope I don't embarrass my little girl, who is picking it up faster than me! |

| FYI...everyone!!! I just called the Rochester visitor's center and asked if the wineries were dog friendly. I was told that, YES~~MOST of them are!!!! So... :clappurple |
| Just to the north and west this weekend/week. It is COLD and rainy tonight! Be sure and pack a rain slicker........i didn't of course!!! Days are great............ a little chilly when the wind blows. Trees are turning gorgeous red color's and apples are in season!!!! |
