My airedale does that, but according to other airedale owners, their dogs do it, too. Not sure about OES. Zeke doesn't shake like that. |
yeah, I had one girl who was a leg shaker. Excitement was often the cause. She was a good teeth chatterer as well. |
My Chloe was a trembler too. First one leg and then another. Not everyday, but often. |
Thank you all for your replies. I was hoping it wasnt anything major caused from her neglect by her previous owners. Shes so sweet and loving its hard to believe anyone would want to miss treat her. |
My male has the shakes on his rear leg. I asked the vet about it and he said it was normal. As long as no problems with walking, etc. My younger female is starting to do it with her front leg too. I think it might be sort of like when us humans lean on the arm/elbow the wrong way and it shakes a little... |
Yeah I've noticed Asgard's legs shake sometimes when he is sitting. It seems to be when he is excited or anticipating something e.g. A treat! |
By the way...Kudos to you for rescuing that poor baby! Thank God you came along to take her.... |
Hi! I'm new here, but we have our third sheepie who's 7 months old (just lost our Bear to bone cancer in February). I noticed Brodie's front leg shaking--first one, then the other--and asked the vet right away. He said there was nothing wrong with his legs, but still I've fretted about it daily. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO LET ME LEARN THAT IT'S NOT DANGEROUS OR WEIRD! I feel so much better after having read all your comments. |
Something tha should be checked out with the vets. There are some bloodlines that are apearing to have a neuropathy problem with shaking.. it isn't excitement...... it is a health problem. It is being seen as the dogs are standing still in the show rings.. shaking like no get out. We call it the Shake Rattle n' Roll bunch. |
My 10 yr-old airedale has shaky legs, both back & front - this has been the case all her life. It doesn't mean she's exhausted or scared or excited. I asked my vet several years ago why this happens? He said it's nothing to worry about, nothing neurological. She is healthy in every other respect - loves to eat, run and keep me entertained! Good luck. |

Good luck. Hi guest, Shaky legs seem to be common in Airedales. Other Airedale owners report the same thing you do; shaky legs but nothing wrong with dog. If you're looking for a good Airedale forum, check out http://www.planetairedale.com . Lotsa friendly 'dale owners over there. If you want to join the forum there, it will cost a little bit of money; something like $7.70 per year. |
