Since I already put down a deposit there was no turning back. I was worked on for an hour...AND IT REALLY HURT! I also made sure I was well dosed with T3s first, but even with that YIKES. My best friend went next. He got the exact same tattoo, but about three times the size, on his back. I was so horrified when his took twenty minutes. The tattoo artist explained that a larger design uses a larger needle, and is much easier...why didn't he tell me that? I would have gotten a six foot tattoo and been out in twelve seconds. I'm thrilled I did it, and it looks like my picture so no complaints now, except, my skin hates the adhesive from the bandage and is reacting. I'm supposed to leave it covered for another three hours, but we'll see how I do with that. Yep, even adhesive hurts me. This is a major undertaking for someone like me. You have no idea how whimpy I am! I had tentatively chosen a second one....a sheepie....but I'm going to need a few YEARS, or maybe even decades for the memory of this pain to subside. Now I just have healing and itching to look forward to. The next thing on my "list" is a hot air balloon ride. That HAS to be less painful, right? |

So, where's the PICTURE??!! ...congrats for toughing it out |
Congratulations! Don't you love tattoos?! Can't wait till the pictures are posted! |
Picture please!!!! |
I will post a pic as soon as I can. My computer's out of service at the moment, so I'm using my husband's old one...I doubt you could save a picture to it. It looks like a simple enough black symbol type tattoo. It's a symbol of protection, and also featured in my favourite TV show (Supernatural). We were going to get them done in Vancouver next week, during the convention, but I really thought doing it locally was the better choice...and if the pain during aftercare was unbearable I didn't want to deal with that while we were there. Right now it's my chosen symbol enclosed by a bright red, swollen, cracked red box...that being how my skin handled the bandage. It's so nice to have it off. When it came off the ink was a mess...I freaked. They told me to wash it and gave good instructions, but didn't warn me that it would look that bad. Thankfully all looks well now that I've cleaned it thoroughly. So pictures will follow shortly. |
What convention are you attending in Vancouver? |

Dunno, Kim took a hot air balloon ride once in Calgary, it hit a building and slid down the side of it. It was a miracle no one was hurt or killed! Grats on your tattoo. I've never been interested in one myself, but I am slightly tempted to get a tattoo of Mady! |
The Supernatural fan convention. I'm most excited about meeting the Impala! |
Congrats on the new tatt - I've never been interested in the ink, but LOVE hot air balloons. Notwithstanding hitting and sliding down the side of a building, the ride is FANTASTIC. The landing is a bit bumpy, but oh what a thrill floating in the sky. |
Oh Tracie, that is so brave! I'm such a wimp that I'd Never consider one. A Giant sheepie is a great idea! hoping for a pic soon. |
As far as the Hot Air thing, it's not the flight that may hurt, it's those landings. |
